I was sceptical about buying this...but it turned out to be a fantastic purchase in the end. Works exactly as it should. No faults. And it has a quality feel to it. Well made and east to use. Have found 3 seperate boost leaks plus and exhaust leak in a very short space of time. Paid for itself after finding the first leak. Would definatley recommend and its the second Mr cartool product that I owe and can't fault , so it seems they are a good brand for the future.

Works well, what can I say... easy to use and it works well. Oh and as well as this working well its a great price also. Sometimes I get things like this and use them once or twice then forget I have it then a perfect scenario presents itself where I really need it and boom Im away.Great bit of kit that does the job and as someone in my life said at some point somewhere... its better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.The end

It's a good design, but not enough psi behind it to actually work efficiently! Ok for large leaks but small leaks, no good. How all quality of build is good.

Smoke button doesn’t work, pulled rear car of to find the button wasn’t plugged in and the wire isn’t long enough!

This smoke machine for testing leaks is a useful addition to our home workshop. You get the smoke machine, the hose, a hanging hook, the cone and adapters, the battery leads and an oil bottle, but no power cable or oil, all in a robust, branded cardboard box.The machine is reasonably well-made, neat in size and it is very simple. I like the bright green colour, as it’s easy to see when you’re searching for it, and it has a useful hanging hook. You can use mineral or baby oil; it does produce smoke very quickly indeed, and a decent amount of it with a reasonably steady flow. My only gripe here is that you can’t see how much oil is left in the machine, so it’s something that you’ll have to remember to top up each time of use and it only takes a maximum of 10ml.It took me a few moments to work out that the on/off button isn’t a power button as such, but the one that releases the smoke. As soon as you start the power, the air pump works straight away, and it is quite noisy. The air pump keeps working until you disconnect the power; and I found that even though I knew this, I was still pushing the on/off switch as an automatic reaction to stop the machine. The adapters cover a useful range and in terms of finding leaks, it works well, and is a time-saver.At the time of writing this review, the cost is £139.00, and there also appears to be a £10 off voucher available. Even with the voucher, this still feels quite expensive for what you get, and the value will depend on how much you'll use it.
