This was perfect for my needs. In times of deluge rain (a few times a year), serious puddles gather in my garden because of bad drainage and compacted soil and it worries me that if the puddles get worse, my slightly-raised shed floor may flood and rot in time. So I like to set up a siphon to quicky take away the gathered water, and it helps the garden to recover much quicker. It can be tricky setting up a siphon because you cannot let any air to get in the hose, or the siphon won't work. This fitting allows me to turn the valve and then disconnect from the tap without air getting in the hose. Trouble-free siphoning. In time I may have to go to the large expense of installing a drain or rotovating but for the time being, being able to siphon easily enough eases my mind a lot.

Nice accessory for my Karcher K4 and important in ensuring no additional water pressure pumping through machine when trigger gun not being used.

This is a good quality connector to use at the business end of your garden hose. It feels nice and secure when attaching to accessories and doesn't leak. It doesn't have an automatic 'stoplock' valve incorporated, so you need to turn the flow off using the tap when switching accessories. There are a few advantages to this. The first is that stoplock valves do impede the potential water flow rate. Secondly, unless you bend the hose when swapping accessories, water can spurt everywhere with stoplocks. The third is that you can use the tap to control the flow rate of a lawn sprinkler so that it covers just the area you need watered. My tap is a long way from my lawn, so I previously had to keep running backwards and forwards until it was just right. Also, turning down the garden tap resulted in a noisy water flow whereas doing at the other end is nice and quiet. If it lasts a few seasons I'll be very happy with it.

Good piece of kit, works well with Kärcher pressure washer and lawn sprinkler. Would recommend to buy, even if unsure. Water stop feature really handy without having to walk back and forth to the tap.

Good fitting as you would expect from a brand name like Gardena. Good tight fit onto hose and the on/off control works well. Well enough priced for the quality of the item.

Well made and performs it's function perfectly. At last I can change brushes or sprayers without having to trail backwards and forwards to the outside tap or risk a soaking changing them without turning off the tap. Impressed with the quality. Having used a different make for many years I'm now looking to change all the fittings to Gardena.
