How many cans do you need for 1" insulation on a 40x8.5x9.5 shipping container?

I am assuming that 8.5 is the with and the 9.5 is the height. Using length times width for each side and end. 40 x8.5 is 340 square ft. Two sides together will equal 680sq ft. Now the ends 8.5 x 9.5=80.75 square ft. There are two ends so mult. times 2 =80.75 square ft. =161.5 sq ft for the ends. Add the sides, and you get161.5+680= 841.5 square ft. I assume you want to do the ceiling also. ceiling is 8.5 wide and 40 long. 8.5 x 40= 340 sq ft. add them up and grand total is 1,181.5 sq ft. 24 cans does 480 square ft. Looks like 49 cans.
