Good quality. Not heavy duty. But great for lite shop work.

I got this tool for card making, but ended up using it for lots of measurements around the house. The "T-square" part helps me keep things I stamp or glue onto cards nice and straight. A lot of T-squares for crafters have a cut out on the short side that is perpendicular to the ruler (about 1/4" deep prior to the zero point), so it's hard to line up an item at zero to measure it (difficult to describe, but you can't just press an item against the perpendicular bar, or you end up with an extra 1/4" in your measurement). That might be a "special feature," but if it is, I don't know why it is needed. The ruler on this item shows measurements in 1/16-inch increments up to one foot at the top and bottom of the aluminum ruler. Now that I have it, I wish it got one with metric measurements in one of these positions (if such a product exists).

I really like Alvin products. Unfortunately, my wife had to replace this t-square for a larger one. Very easy to return and replace with another larger t-square. Sorry that the larger Alvin t-square would not be available on time for my wife's class.

Excellent item, I wish I had purchased this years ago. This is light, well built. and has good value for your money.The Ruler section of the T-Square is 36 inches long, which is perfect. I have used the T-Square about 20 times since I purchased it, and the 36 inches is just long enough, but not to long. The 36 inches along the Ruler is large and easy to see, and has IMPERIAL or Inches on both sides. I really did not want the METRIC system on one side.The top section is about 8 inches, and has 3 inches on each side of the T. I guess you might want a larger T-Section if you were using this for construction or large jobs, but for me the 3 inches is good enough.
