a MUST HAVE for handy bimmer owners!
Comes in a nice little case for storage and is a great size to keep in the little pouch under the headlight controls on newer BMWs. Not only does it work very well with bimmercode, it’s easily found by bluetooth scanner apps so you can read individual module codes.

Works well with BimmerCode and Re-Coding a Mini R56 ECU
So I used this device to re-code the ECU/ECM on my 2013 Mini Cooper (R56). For that purpose it worked great. I was able to edit the ECU and unlock a number of features. For example, in the stock configuration double clicking and then holding the unlock button on the remote will wind the windows down from the key fob. However there’s no way to roll the windows back up from the fob. I was able to change the roll down function to pressing and holding unlock just once, and enabled the window roll up feature by pressing and holding the lock button on the fob. I was also able to disable the seatbelt chime for the passenger front seat since that’s where my dog sits and it was incredibly annoying to have that going off the whole time she was up front.Next, I was able to enable some cool lighting features. For example, I enabled a module in BimmerCode that keeps my fog lights on while the high beams are on or while they’re flashed. I was also able to turn off hot and cold bulb warnings for a couple of lights (I have a modded rear bumber with fog lights from the JCW so I needed this to prevent errors from showing). Finally, I made a few changes for quality of life. I turned off the seatbelt chime for the driver seat since I always wear it and the constant reminder was just a little annoying. I enabled the option to automatically fold in the mirrors when locking the car, enabled the mirror to tilt downwards when putting the car in to reverse, adjusted the digital speedometer to show an accurate measurement instead of the slightly modified number BMW shows with the factory settings, and a few other relatively simple changes like that.I never had any issues with connectivity or any other problems with the Veepeak device. It worked flawlessly through all of this re-coding. From what I understand this device will also work with apps like “Torque” where you can connect to a tablet and show gauges like coolant temp, oil pressure, etc., right through the tablet. I believe you can also read codes through it as well with the right app as BimmerCode is able to clear any codes with every re-code. So there’s a wide range of what’s available to you with this device as long as you get the right apps. From what I’ve seen in my personal experience, there’s no reason to buy the more expensive options when the majority of your costs are going to come from the app purchases you’ll need to make anyway. Also, some people have complained that the Bluetooth devices or Bluetooth low energy devices like this have a problem with data transfer speed. I personally didn’t see a problem there. Re-coding was quite fast and I doubt the WiFi versions are any faster as I believe the bandwidth bottleneck is with the ECU/ECM and not with the transfer protocol itself (Bluetooth/BLE/WiFi).

Works Perfect with Torque App on 2016 Jeep Wrangler JKU Sahara
I bought this to use with the Torque app. I tested it on the free version of the app and it worked perfect and also works on the paid version of the app.I have this installed on a 2016 Wrangler JKU and have had no issues. It feeds data to the Torque app instantly. Having one of these in your car is AMAZING to see the instant data that your car may be recording but not displaying on your dash and the Torque ap lets you setup custom gauges, I was able to see data that I dont even have a gauge for!The animations and custom on the Torque app are pretty slick and the Veepeak feeds the data to them perfectly.I am impressed.I bought this around Xmas time 2019, but recently in late January 2020, I had the check engine light appear on my Jeep's dash, used the VeePeak and the Torque App to read the error code within a few moments of it appearing while driving and it was due to an Evap leak, basically I just need a new gas cap. Saved me a trip to the dealer! My setup:- 2016 Jeep Wrangler JKU Sahara (39k miles)- Torque App (paid version)- Android- Nvidia Shield K1 Tablet- Connected 24/7PROS:- Inexpensive- Comes with a decent storage case.- Works with Torque App.- Bluetooth connection is fast and reliable.- Reads error codes accurately.- LED light shows it's powered upCONS:The only con I have is not related to the device itself really, but rather where the VeePeak installs on the Wrangler, it sticks out a little bit from the port under the dash so my leg brushes up against it sometimes, but I havent seen it as a major problem. I could probably get an extention wire and relocate it, but honestly I hardly notice it.

Easy to use, fast connection
I received this today. I had already purchased the OBD Fusion app after reading reviews. I have used the OBDX connector previously with Torque on my android devices. These don't work with an iPhone i purchased. Previously, I bought Torque Pro, and the adapter for $30. The new setup cost $42 for the adapter, and $10 for the software. I guess that's part of the "apple" price tag. It connected easily, came in a sleek case, and is about 1/2 the size of my previous adapters. It was easy to connect, and the software did all the work, I just had to plug everything in and turn the car on. -Update - I own two of these, and am likely going to buy at least two more. I keep one in each car so I can quickly diagnose problems on the go. Using with real-time stat, and the ability to watch for faults on my F250 Diesel is awesome. Buy a good app to go with it, and the system is nearly as good as factory technicians. Love this device and the capabilities it gives with a good app. Using it with Android now.
