Best mobile hotspot available
Hey people, stop complaining about the lack of your skills how to use it. If you use a carrier without the open service, it won't work for sure. Telcel un México Is a good example of this. But any other company works well. And in Europe it saved me a lot of money! Lebara worked perfectly. 20 Euros= 100 gigas for one month. Speed at 60 per second. Read your manual guys and later you post your complains.

A Solution Was Found
At first, for maybe about two weeks, this would have been five starts. Then, it started randomly restarting / rebooting and therefore disconnecting. It restarted while trying to type this review. It makes it totally useless for the purpose I bought it, and god forbid I take a timed test online for one of my college classes. Too bad, too, because when it isn't restarting, it has full bars pretty much everywhere, even in buildings, and has great speed and a wicked fast ping. I can even do PvP gaming (until it restarts...).EDIT: I found out what the problem is. The antenna on this thing doesn't like Bluetooth for whatever reason. If a device is connected to this and ALSO has an active Bluetooth function, there is the possibility that this hotspot can restart. The solution is to disable Bluetooth on the connected devices, if this hotspot randomly restarts. My laptop and one of my phones cause this issue with their Bluetooth, but my other phone and my friend's laptop do not. Credit goes to the Huawei (United States) customer support for this one. It is now a very very excellent hotspot, one star deducted because of the Bluetooth antenna conflict issue.

Travelling in South America, New Zealand and SE Asia - Can't get it to work
My plan was to use the Huawei as a hotspot while on an extended travel trip around the world. I've tried SIM cards from different countries and cannot seem to get it to work. I tested it before I left home and it worked fine but doesn't seem to be active with purchased SIM cards while on the road. Expensive piece of equipment which is not working for my travel needs. I will try again when I reach home in a couple of weeks to see if the device might be faulty. Difficult for me to try to reach support while on the road although i tried a couple of stores and no one seemed to be able to assist.

Updated based on comments
Very disappointed with this device! I purchased this for an upcoming trip to Europe. Was able to insert SIM card (although the SIM slot is very tight, and I had to use tweezers to remove the card from the device). Device recognized the SIM and I was able to connect my phone and my tablet to the Wi-Fi network it established. However, there was no internet connection. I tried troubleshooting, but there is no online documentation or support for this device. I expected a plug and play consumer product. Instead, this device would, at best, require extensive research and troubleshooting to get it to work. I’m returning this.Update: Thanks for the comments. I see now that the problem was not with the device after all. Unfortunately, I was unable to find any documentation or troubleshooting help for this device. I thought the idea behind this device is that you wouldn’t need to put in manual APN info to get online. I’m deducting 2 stars because (1) no support/documentation; and (2) the sim slot is really tight and hard to use. Twice I needed tweezers to extract the card.

Things missing in this router...
I'm a user of portable router for about a couple of years, I had Netgears and Huaweis before. I'm comapring this router to the ones I used and similar routers in the market like the M1 Netgear.Pros:-Low price comparing to the Cat16 portable routers in the market-Battery can survive for around 12 hours with light usage.-Manualy you can choose 2G, 3G or 4GCons:-Cannot change the range of wifi for the device which means its always long range and consumes a lot of battery. Other routers can change the range (Short- Medium -Long).-Time is only in 24 hour and cannot be changed to 12.-Lower download speed for the same ISP in the same area compared to the M1 Netgear.
