Actual size of fabric/ sleeping area?

It depends on the size you order. Ours is as big as the cot itself. And my dog makes uses of the whole thing. he's a 90 lb lab mix and we have the XL.

Why are most of the reviews from people who got them free?

They most likely received the dog bed in exchange for the customer writing an honest review. Amazon does this with many products.

Does anyone have a Great Dane and the XL?

Dear my customer, Our XL bed measures 49"L x 32.5"W x 8"H (125x83x20 cm) and can hold the weight up to 150 lbs (68kg). If your Great Dane is under 47" in length, this bed will fit him.

Does it fold? So I can take camping

Dear my customer, it cannot be folded directly, but it is very easy to disassemble and reset up without tools, you can disassemble it for camping.
