Very good product...no complaints.

Good, value for money. Accurate readings. I don't need to visit my GP weekly to check my BP. i BOUGHT this product because am on the boundary line of been a BP patient. Now, am able to monitor what I eat, visit gym 3 times a week.The downside is that am unable to set the clock. The manual is useless.I rate this product 3 star.

Very good monitor.Easy to use

I've been measuring my blood pressure (and weight) daily in an attempt to reduce them (I'm just below hypertensive). My normal monitor is the Omron M2 - which I've seen in many GPs, hospitals etc - it's ubiquitous (and currently has 2,048 reviews on Amazon, almost entirely 4 or 5 stars). The Omron M2 has a newer model, the Omron M3.So I thought I'd compare my trusty old (about 10 years now) M2 with the Beurer BM45.First impression is that they are more similar that different. Both take the reading automatically with a single press of the button once a cuff is placed around the upper arm (with the air-tubing facing down across the middle of the inside of the elbow).The Beurer cuff is a little wider, by nearly 2cm, making it a little less comfortable and a little harder to place correctly (you might need to bare the arm further).Both auto-inflate until they've got sufficient pressure to start deflating above your systolic pressure (the higher reading). As I'm slightly hypertensive, the units had to go higher to get a proper reading. I tested both units ten times each. The Beurer went as high as 210mmHg four times out of ten, before deflating. 210mmHg was quite painful, I was left with red marks around my arm. The Omron was more conservative and did not go so high before deflating. This tendency of the Beurer to go extra-high before starting loses it a point in my view, as could be quite painful for those with hypertension.Then there's the screen read-outs. The Beurer has a very bright white backlit screen, and is quite huge compared to the Omron's. The Omron's screen is not backlit at all. The font of the Beurer is rather thin, making it hard to read against the strong white backlight; the Omron has a bold font that was very easy to read despite being smaller and not being backlit. Obviously the backlight is going to use significant power - the Omron seems to last months (at one test per day), I don't know how long the Beurer batteries will last. Both accept an external power supply for those who need to use it routinely (e.g. in a clinic).The Beurer has two memory buttons, the Omron has none. However, I was using the most basic Omron; more advanced models are available.The pump action of the Omron is noticeably quieter and gentler than the Beurer.I also measured the total time taken to take a recording (from pressing start to receiving the result). The Omron was slightly faster at 29 seconds vs the Beurer at 38 seconds. This is probably due to the Beurer deciding to inflate further, to a higher (and therefore less comfortable) initial pressure.Finally, I tested the repeatability of the readings by measuring myself ten times for each unit, keeping the environment as calm and steady for all tests. I've given the test data below, but first the results: the Beurer came in with a standard deviation (measure of variability, lower the better) for systolic of 4.5, the Omron managed 3.1; for diastolic the Beurer came in at 1.5 and the Omron at 1.3 - so in both cases the Omron was more reliable than the Beurer, so I've taken another point off.Conclusion - the Beurer BM45 is OK, but not great. Very impressed with this device simple to use and understand and the memory function will be useful to anyone who suffers from blood pressure!Within 2 minutes of installing batteries blood pressure was being read!Read our is very clear and the colour coded scale at the side instantly let's you know if your pressure is high or low or just right!Excellent product!

This certainly appears to be of very good quality and is perfect for home use. It packs into a zipped bag, runs on 4 AA batteries(provided), and it is as simple as fitting it onto your arm and pressing the button. The numbers are very easy to read, and the size of the strap will fit the biggest arm. The booklets provided are numerous - telling you everything you`ll need to know to read the numbers, understand and interpret them, and then act upon them - do nothing, see your doctor, consult mortician etc. Very impressive.

Nice looking and easy to use monitor. The display is very clear and as well as the numbers you get a nice traffic light warning system.The unit itself is solid and sturdy and comes with a carry pouch. To operate you'll need 4 AA batteries which aren't included.I'm pretty happy with this, but some of the other reviews have cast doubt on it's accuracy. As I have nothing to callibrate this against I can't really comment.
