I have ordered several of the Bates Choice (I know marketing name) products and none have disappointed so far. I may have paid a dollar or two more for these Bates Choice items but they are very much worth it compared to the cheaper and lower quality competitors on Amazon. These painter 5 in 1 tools are Old School quality with real wood handles and thick steel blades. I am tired of the plastic handles that loosen and break over time, and I am tired of paying the Sherwin Williams prices for their 5 in 1 tools. These are an Outstanding alternative to both. I use these almost daily and the have held up very well with no wobbly or broken handles. Whatever company is producing and marketing these Bates Choice products is doing an outstanding job. These are pro-quality all the way round and have been great to own. One tip if you buy them; cover the handles in boiled linseed oil before you use them. Maybe do 3 coats. It will protect the wood and make cleaning the handles easier.

It is solid and works well. It is good to find a product like this that is made in the US.

Simple and lightweight but plenty functional. I haven't used them for any really heavy work yet, but these are just like the ones we had back in the 90's when I first started painting. Even if you don't paint, they're very handy tools to keep around the house, and these are very budget-friendly.

Good gauging point for removing old caulk. I literally bought this set for the gougers to remove old caulk. These tips are nice and pointy for the task. I tried to give it 4 stars but something is weird and not letting me do that.

THEYRE SO VERSATILE! I use them for literally everything, I was peeling tile off of a floor and they worked like a dream getting it off, and they don’t rust! They’re the perfect sleek look and the grip is so durable! They fit perfectly into my hand and my wife’s hand when she helped me with the floor! Highly recommend

Very nicely made. Strong metal blade with full tang. Nice wooden handles. Much better than the cheap plastic things with hollow handles you get at Home Depot. First thing I did when I got mine was to lightly sand and oil the handles with some Danish oil to help protect the wood. You could also use a polyurethane if you want added wood protection, but I like the oiled wood look. Note the description says 3” wide, but it’s actually 2.5” wide. I prefer the smaller size, so not an issue for me. This thing will last a lifetime and is something everyone needs to have in their toolbox.

Will made for trim and many other uses

Get 2 for less that the price of one with a cheap plastic handle. Sharp, fully mirror plated metal, professionally finished with strong wood handles--not plastic. An excellent buy!!! Makes you wonder why some sell a single scraper of less quality for more money than 2 of these.
