Winding this device takes strength in both thumbs!
I give 5 stars because it works for someone with strength in both hands BUT, JUST A CAUTION: The method of winding this model takes thumb strength in both thumbs. I ordered it to help rehab my hand after carpal tunnel surgery. The surgery left temporary numbness (possibly 3-12 months) in my thumb and fingers. The lack of strength plus the numbness didn't allow me to fully wind the device. I returned this model and ordered the model that winds with a string. I'm hoping that will work for me.

It's easy to start but does not accelerate that fast - great for physical therapy.
Interesting Gyroball. Starts easily, but will not accelerate as quickly as other gyroballs. I'm recovering from elbow and shoulder surgery and find this gyroball perfect for the first phase of physical therapy. Recommended

Intense forearm and wrist workout.
This little guy is a pretty intense workout! I have tried a few of these in the past with a pull cord. This one is so much easier to start. It still takes a bit of practice to get a feel for it. The operation is pretty smooth, but it does generate some noise so it is not a very discreet workout. I have taken this on my walks several times and my forearms are exhausted when I get back.

Don't be scared, get strong!
Fun and easy to use. I'm almost 50 and had no problem using my thumbs for winding it up. It works fast and gets muscles burning.

Beautifully made, but can't get it to work
This product is solid, stylish, & well made. It's a pleasure to look at, & feels great in your hand. But the bad news: Winding it up does require major strength in both thumbs. One thumb will not do it. Pulling across a counter to do the winding doesn't work. We watched many videos from the manufacturer, & on YouTube. We tried to get the ball gyro to work every morning and evening. Each of us. Every day. For nearly three weeks. Neither of us could get this ball to run for more than 20 seconds. At best. In a hundred+ attempts, it only made it to a whining/whirring speed in 2-3 uses. I really like this product. But it really is hard to use. For us, it simply does not work. We had to return this product.

Needs a couple tries to get used to it.
Excellent product. Takes a little while to get used to; but, an important piece of exercise eqpt. for your wrist, hand and forearm.
