I have had this leash for almost 7 years! While the handle has been rubbed to death this leash has never once messed up! Absolutely worth it!

Got the large size.To preface, my dog is a complete spaz. She is not familiar with the concepts of holding still or staying calm. Up til this point we've been using a short, non-retractable leash, because she ate the original retractable one we had, and by doing so have risked shoulder dislocations and losing skin to the leash handle on a daily basis. She pulls, she tugs, and you have to keep a careful eye out for any errant squirrels/birds/neighbors or she will try to take off before you even know it. So it goes without saying that it was past time to get a new leash. Enter: this leash. I took my time researching because I knew exactly what I wanted. Not only is my dog a leash tugger, she's also a freakishly strong 60 pound black lab. I wanted something with grip. I wanted something industrial. I wanted something that could go toe to toe with a tank and win. And I gotta say, this one delivers. When I took it out of the package I was surprised at the size and heft of this thing. It almost has the air of a space age assault rifle, like in Mass Effect or something. The leash glides out so smoothly, and retracts with ease. The locking button stays locked until you're ready to release it and not a moment sooner. And the length is great, my dog can go so much further than she could on the non-retractable and I don't have to worry nearly so much about her trying to rip my arm off. She still tugs some, but I'm planning on purchasing a harness with a front hook to go with the leash to try and end that for good. Bottom line, I highly recommend this leash, especially if your dog thinks they're an unstoppable freight train!

I ordered this leash twice. The first leash I had for 4-5 months. I was in love with this leash, I only hated that it didn't have a poop bag attachment and the attachment I bought didn't fit. The first leash had a belted portion maybe 6 inches long then the rest of the leash was a strong rope like material. My puppy chewed through the belted part and that was the end of that leash. The second leash was not the same it was a Tape like leash it was not as long as the first one so I immediately returned it because I had bought two other tape like leashes that were like this tape they call it tangle free but I call it B.S. the second leash was definitely not what I ordered and not what is pictured. If they are changing the leash that should be noted and I was not notified of any changes. The first leash I give 4.5 stars the second tape leash I give 1 star because my dog had chewed through the replacement of the first leash before I ordered this second leash and this is made just like it it's shorter than the first leash. I know this is kind of confusing but 1st leash kinda awesome second tape like leash not cool, not what I was ordering.

As other reviewers have stated the handle is constructed of heavy plastic and the grip is very ergonomic for adults with medium to large-sized hands. Children & petite individuals might find this leash a bit cumbersome. The clasp is heavy and the spring feels to be constructed of quality material. The nylon leash piece itself is durable and retracts easily into the handle regardless of how much or how little has been spooled out.My only cause for concern is the locking mechanism. The press-action lock is very easy to both secure and release; there is no "quick lock" with a half-press. Could be an issue for some. I cannot stress enough to read the product title: for small to medium sized dogs. My dog is a 20 lb corgi mutt and I feel were she much heavier she would be able to spool out extra leash by overpowering the lock/winder. I can make the mechanism slip by holding the device in one hand and pulling with the other and I'm no beefcake. It may appear hefty enough for large dogs but certainly would not be.The overall quality merits this product being given a 4-star rating but the price-point makes it a 5. Don't be disillusioned as to what you're purchasing and make sure the features & weight capabilities will suit your needs.

The media could not be loaded.  The UrPower leash for your dog is comfortable, safe, and easy to use! I was able to easily press both buttons on the leash. The braking button helped me control how far away my dog went from me and helped me abruptly stop her in her tracks - for safety! The brake release button helped me let her run amok again. Every good leash promotes a balance of safety and fun!Works with any standard dog collar -except the collars found at Hot Topic. Those collars are for people with daddy issues. Use the UrPower Leash only with actual dog collars and you will be able to safely control your dog!The handle is comfortable. Using this leash for several hours will not hurt your hands- unless you have a personal hand problem not related to the leash.The reflective nylon also helps motorists see you so they don't run your over when you are running through the streets at night. Even more safety!Overall, this is an inexpensive dog control solution that is comfortable, safe, and easy to use! I like my UrPower leash so much I have two of them - and I only have one dog!
