4 or 5 of my 4x4 pressure treated fence posts rotted at ground level, and I struggled to remove the remaining post that was encased in concrete in the ground. I saw a great Youtube where a large hanger ring like this was used with four 8" x 1/2" or 5/8" lag bolts to lever out a post. I pilot drilled the posts at an angle to prevent splitting the wood, then carefully drove in the bolts with an impact gun. On that note, this Hammock hook does not swivel. In my case, it didn't matter as I just oriented it correctly before drilling the holes, but YMMV. Similar to another reviewer, I used a metal rock breaker rod as a lever to lift the post out easily. A swivel would make it easier if I needed to approach the levering from different approach angles, but could potentially make a weaker ring? The machining was done well, with all sharp edges broken including the bolt holes and edges. Well done!

Used this to extract a post from concrete with the aid of a 6 foot steel bar and four 8 inch screws. Worked like a charm. Note that the ring on top is fixed not swivel but that was no issue for me
