I gave it 4 stars because it is super cute and maybe I just got a defective one! My daughter loved it and was super excited to hang it! But last night it fell to the ground and shattered. I am guessing the glue just didn’t hold. The horse came detached from the chain. My daughter was heart broken.

Updated review 2017: I ordered 2 of these in 2015. Both were flawless. Color & detail are beautiful. Unfortunately, 2 1/2 years later, I pulled on one to turn fan on and it came off, hit the floor and broke into 4 pieces. The chain is ONLY GLUED into top of horse, there is no support if you only pull on the horse. So, over time, it weakened. Design flaw: Chain needs to go through the horse for stability. I glued the entire horse back together and apoxied the chain in the hole. Up close I can see the damage, but not when it is hanging. I swapped it out with the one I have in my spare bedroom where it will get used very little. I ordered the saddle and boot, I'll see how well they hold up on my new fans. Overall River's Edge products are beautiful and well made, I have many of their items and have been happy with them over the years. I have changed my initial 5 star rating to a 4, only because of the design flaw.

It's the little touches that make a difference and this little horse pull chain decoration is just too cute in my modern ranch home. The price was good and the product looks exactly like the picture. It comes on a gold chain which did not match the chain on my fan lamp, so I just went over it with a brown permanent marker to match my bronze chain and you would never know it was gold. I am very happy with this purchase.

It pulls real good and looks nice too! Best of all no road apples to clean up so far! There was a mix up in the supply lane and the stage just brought the boot and an e-mail said got the horse, so tried my darnest to get the stage to bring the horse I had paid up front for. Then one day the horse just showed up. not real sure just how much he cost though.

The first item I received had the tail broken off when I opened the package, although the package was not damaged in any way (see pics). However, because I have Amazon prime, I was able to return it and buy another of the same item. That one arrived beautifully, and has now been installed in the girls' horsey room. They love it, and it makes the chain long enough that they can turn their fan on and off without mom's help! Win! I especially like that this chain includes the fastener that you need to attach it to the existing chain. Those things sometimes go missing, and having this one included is a big help.
