Prior to this product, I had tried the black panther purple and clear gels with limited success. I have 4c hair that struggles to lay flat, but this doss the job with little to no damage. I first use a wet edge brush to soften my hair, then go over it with this gel. Works well for my natural edges, both summer and winter. I would recommend this over their other gels.
