Brass Nautical - Medieval Sugarloaf Great Helm Crusader Knight Helmet

I am a medieval/templar/knight enthusiast. Just a big fan of the stuff. A couple years ago I had a Templar Knight costume made for me for Halloween. Now that I can afford things that I like, I came across this helmet. Consideration was given to the cheaper helmets with the brass cross, but I liked the full silver better. I also considered the more expensive version with the cross breathing hole and leather lining but this was cheaper. I'm glad I did, though, because at least for my head it was big and really very heavy. No wonder knights were neck muscled men, lol. This way I can customize the lining myself and add appropriate padding, one for comfort but two, so that my eyes can se out of the slot. Eventually when I assemble the chainmail coif and helmet pads, etc it should be more comfortable.I should say here that I am an average female of average height (5' 5"). My brother (6' 2") has a big head and could not get it to fit while I need padding to not have it rock around.Packaging was good. It came overseas by DHL. Cleaned off the layer of grease it came with and voila!

Well picked gauge of steel, thick enough to take impact but not too thick it is absurdly heavy. It isn't held together by rivets alone but welds as well which are ground and polished making them invisible from the exterior. That's a plus! No padding on the inside but it does have and adjustable chin strap. I'm 5'11 and 190lbs and it would have fit perfectly if it wasn't for my big nose being pushed in. This was somewhat solved by pressing one the helmet sides making it more oval instead of perfectly round. All it needs now is inside padding and I'd say it's battle ready.

!Warning! this Item comes packed in grease, will take a while to clean before first use. The helmet looked small when I first unpacked it but it fit around my 22 inch head easily. The metalwork looks great, however there is little to no padding inside. just a chin strap and webbing inside made out of Some form of vynal. The only issue I had was my huge nose that kept being pressed down whenever I lifted my head. Could maybe fix that issue by adding padding. it does get heavy after a 1/2 hour or so, but totally worth it to complete the look. Not made for combat but perfect for cosplay.

Helmet came on time Its not the same helmet in the picture the bottom back isnt shaped the same as the real helmet and the there is no ear hole on the bottom sides of the helmet the helmet has gaps where weld shuld be has real horse hair it doesn't come with the leather insert cap and it says it comes with one in the description its false advertisment . The helmet is ok its not horrible i asked them why didnt it come with the cap they said they dont sell it together .they sent me a cap it had white mold and it smelled like chemicals. If i knew all this i would've saved an extra one fifty and bought a museum replica one. I made this review because i feel people should get what they pay for

Item just as described and looks great! We are using it as decor, in our office, so it looks awesome. Very happy with this purchase.

This is a great helm i use it for LARP and it works great my only problem with it is that you're nose gets crushed

Very solid feeling, fits as a helmet should, only complaint is that the chin and head strap came loose from the helmet, seems fixable with hot glue though

Decent helmet. My cousin participates in HEMA battles and wouldn't recommend this thing at all. Good for costuming and LARPing.For size, my German nose is just to big for this thing. Without padding I was losing skin to the front rivets, with padding... I feel squished.Otherwise, I enjoy it. I'm currently creating modification to attach to the helmet to give it the Crested Teutonic look.
