I was lucky enough to score the unit for $6 plus tax ($7.55 total at checkout) and I am very pleased with the value this item offers.The standard spot light function is very bright and illuminates the area well. It provides just enough of a hot spot and surrounding flood to be extremely useful in wide open spaces.The secondary COB white light does better in tighter spaces, creating a flood of white light.The third option, the red COB, again, does well in tight, enclosed spaces, and allows the user to retain most of their "night vision".My only complaints are that one, the red option isn't the first one to turn on, and two, there isn't a red spotlight option. Given that, I can't quite recommend this for "tactical" or "non-pervasive" environments.For anyone else, EDC, around the house, mechanic, etc., this unit is great!I haven't taken it apart yet, but the housing is held together by a couple of Phillips head screws, so there might be the possibility of the user being able to replace the power cells if / when they wear out.

Great little light with plenty of lighting option . Best option is motion sensor on and off

This headlamp is just what I was looking for. Great!!!

I currently have three purposes for using the EverBrite and I give 5 stars for two of them, and 4 stars for the other.My first use is to take my dogs outside to do their business in floodlight mode. There is plenty of lighting on the side of the house but not in the backyard. I give the EverBrite 5 stars for this purpose because I can see everything I need to see to pick up my boys' messes.Second use: I only take my dogs for walks at night infrequently, say 3-5's a month and I give the EverBrite 5 stars for that as well. The rest of the time we go for walks during the day.The only reasons that I give this 4.5 stars is because it's a little frustrating going through all the modes, and for the motion sensor being too sensitive during close-quarters usage.Is there anybody else who really needs the Red Beam, and/or SOS Red Strobe modes frequently? Forgive me if I'm just being a dummy on this point, but I would certainly prefer fewer functions and less frustration.Again, this is the best headlamp that I've owned mainly because of the ability to switch from basically a flood light to a more focused beam or both: the ad copy was little confusing for me to understand because it states, "XPE Mode(300 Lm), COB Mode(300 Lm), XPE+COB Mode(500 Lm), Red Beam, and SOS Red Strobe."For me, that boils down to being useful for a flood light, a focused beam or both. With a little frustration weeding out the red lights.Also, a bonus is that it is rechargeable but note that I'm 99% sure that it's a 1-amp max on the input or you risk damaging the electronics.Okay, so in close quarters it's been frustrating requiring me to NOT use the motion sensor because every time I get close to my work it turns itself off. For example, when I've been swapping out electrical breakers at night, the headlamp shuts off when I lean in too close. I have to lean backwards and then back in to turn it back on, and when it's pitch black it doesn't work.Also, when in low light there's a lag time requiring a few back-and-forth motions to get the light back on. So, for those reasons I don't use the motion sensor to keep the headlamp on continuously.

I could care less about all the functions of this light but if it goes out when you need it what good is it

I have used this for about a month and the wide beam fails to operate. The only options are now the focused beam, red or red flashing. The light is incredibly bright, however, there is no option to dim.
