Greate Balance
Bought this balance to be installed as part of warehouse product preparation attached to digital inventory control through the RS-232 port and it worked great.

Precision scale works great!
Scale was well packed and came with calibration weight. Compact size which didn't take up much space. Easy to use and very accurate.

Very precise scale
I ordered this scale to replace one of those tiny pocket-sized digital scales. We have various use cases for needing a high-precision scale in our household. It's kind of a funny story, but I really should have read the ad more carefully before I ordered this unit, as it's MUCH larger than I thought it would be. I'm not faulting this scale at all for my lack of adequate research. After all, this is a very accurate laboratory-grade scale. It's marketed as such, and has many features conducive to that purpose; such as adjustable feet to ensure levelness while measuring, a built-in bubble scale to easily see if the scale is level or not, a removable see-through plastic box that I presume keeps breezes away from the weighing platform to prevent the air movement from affecting the readings, a calibrate function with a 100g test weight, an RS232 serial port of connecting to a computer or other equipment that would still accommodate and RS232 port, and a LOT more different selectable reading units than I will ever use! This would be at home in any kind of laboratory setting or in the home when utmost accuracy is needed. The display is large and easy to read, and has a backlight. That's one area where my tiny pocket scale lacked: the display could definitely be a bit hard to read because of the small size. In addition to the lab-specific features, the Ruishan has all the usual features you would expect to see, such as buttons to zero the scale and account for tare weight. As I mentioned at the beginning of this review, I'm not faulting this scale at all for the size of it. In fact, this definitely has its advantages over the tiny scales. But I am only awarding four stars because of just two factors: > Although documentation in the ad and in the manual seem to indicate that this scale can be battery-powered, I certainly don't see where you would insert batteries. There is a little door at the bottom that LOOKS like a battery compartment door, but when I removed it there were no battery terminals nor connectors of any type. I didn't see anywhere else a battery might possibly go besides that. The only thing I can think of is that maybe they are referring to an external battery pack that would plug in where the AC Adaptor plugs in. > As mentioned earlier, there are a LOT of different units and modes that you can access with the UNIT button on the front panel. So it takes a LOT of button presses to find the one you need, and if you overshoot you need to go all the way around again. Including + and - buttons would be WONDERFUL for selecting the unit to avoid the peck-and-hunt selection method.Other than that, I can't fault the accuracy or the usefulness of this scale. I definitely plan on using it vs. the tiny scale!

Not as accurate as claimed
Definitely not .001 but close enough for some.
