Good companion to the original book, full of appropriate prompts to think through the process
I am a fan of Chris Voss and his company. I was exposed to Chris Voss through MasterClass, watching his negotiation program. He makes it look/seem easy. Then I read the book, and that also is very well-written and easy to understand. However, as a very non-confrontational person in business negotiations, I found that practicing for me, particularly planning for a negotiation is still a challenge. For that reason, I got interested in a workbook to help me think through things a little more thoroughly. That’s how I’ve found this workbook. I have an issue at work that is emotionally charged for me so my mind blanks due to worry as I’m sitting down to prepare. I’ve used this workbook to help me fully think through the perspectives at play in order to plan for the pending negotiations. I’ve copied some pages to reuse with other matters so I will have the book at my side when I need it. I’m impressed with what is in this workbook and am beyond confident that the value of the book will be multiples of the cost if I use it for the negotiations to save money with a contractor and consultant who are trying to pinch us for more money. I am glad to recommend this book. I know there weren’t a ton of reviews when I bought it so I want to put this out there for those who are wondering if the workbook is worth it. It’s not super long, so it’s easy to work through and use it to gather thoughts before a negotiation. There are plenty of reflective prompts that align with each chapter. The prompts are presented in a simple format, with room to write your thoughts after each. The prompts have helped me start and not feel overwhelmed as I’m evaluating my pending negotiation.

Best Book ever!
Worth the read so much! Use his teaching daily and have gifted this book multiple times and always get feedback that they loved it and such a unique gift to give! Great for helping build relationships and I even use the skills in parenthood.

What I appreciate most about this workbook is its ability to make the theoretical aspects of negotiation feel tangible and actionable. It's not just about reading and nodding along; it's about doing, reflecting, and improving. The practical exercises have pushed me to think critically about my negotiation style, identify areas for improvement, and practice new techniques in a structured, focused manner.Moreover, the workbook is designed in such a way that it encourages you to revisit and review key concepts, which has been crucial for retaining the wealth of information from the main book. The summaries and key takeaway sections have served as great refreshers, ensuring that the lessons don't just fade away after the initial read.

Very disappointing
This workbook was a huge disappointment. It added virtually nothing beyond what Chris Voss's book already provided, summarizing content from the book and sometimes getting it wrong (e.g., saying you should "sympathize" when expressing tactical empathy, which Voss is very clear in multiple videos you should NOT do). There were a few templates, some good, some not so good. Not worth even the small price.

An excellent workbook
This workbook companion to Never Split the Difference, a guide to negotiating strategies in potentially deadly situations, much of the information in the original is presented in a more compact form, along with Key Points bullets lists at the end of chapters, and exercises in which questions are asked or situations posed for the reader, along with questions to reflect or think about. This is a very thought provoking workbook, and contains plenty of interesting information that can be helpful in any kind of negotiations in life. One section I found interested was how the author explains how to use a "no" answer from the people you are negotiating with is actually an excellent place to really begin to work with the other party, and actually makes them feel receptive to different ideas and approaches. A very interesting read!
