Connection to my Past
My mother was a Cadette. I loved this book and all the information about the program, none of which I knew. Well written and offers some very important and, unfortunately, heretofore obscure history about the workings of the WWII era. Highly recommended, especially to WWII buffs and also to anyone interested in how women have influenced a history written about and for men.

My mother was a Cadette
I came across this book by happenstance. My mother was a Curtiss-Wright Cadette at RPI in Troy, NY. She told me a bit about her experience and I was intrigued. I wish I had asked her more about this chapter of her life before she passed. This book has shown me how amazing and important the program was and the women who were selected. The research by the author was excellent and her storytelling engaging. I recommend this book to any descendant of a Curtiss-Wright Cadette or anybody interested in the history of women in engineering. I myself am an attorney, another profession where women have come a long way

Interesting Book on Unusual WW2 Topic
I bought this book based on other Amazon reviews. It is a story of college freshman women who were recruited by CW to be engineering techs for their aircraft manufacturing and engineering operations. It was interesting to me due to the Columbus Ohio Curtiss-Wright (then NA Rockwell) plant connection at Port Columbus. The only negative was that the author seemed to dwell a lot on her research process -- instead of the actual program. A good book for someone interested about early women in aeronautical engineering.
