Good product. Two design flaws, but easily fixed.
Good size, about 1.5 x 1 inch and about 1/2 inch thick. Signal strength is good. The remote picks up my garage from about 20-30 feet if I have a clear line of sight. FYI, there are two main down sides to this product, but they can be fixed with a little tweaking.1. The casing is hard to open even after you remove the screw because the gap between the top and bottom pieces is VERY small. You'll need a blade like an xacto knife to wedge it in, but even after that you have to twist the blade to slowly wedge it out. That is risky though, because the blade could snap. Just be patient as you open it, there are a few clip areas that hold the two pieces together. FIX: once you open the garage opener, use a blade to cut out some of the outer edge of the bottom piece by one of the clips to make a gap between the top and bottom piece. Essentially you're cutting out a tiny gap between the top and bottom piece. In the future, after you take out the screw you can just fit your fingernail to open it very easily with no hassle. They should have manufactured the product with a gap like that in the beginning.2. The garage opener stops working from time to time. I found out that it's because the battery terminals are flexible and don't always connect with the battery. FIX: I just wedged some tiny pieces of folded paper behind the two metal arms that held the battery in place to give it a tighter fit. Ever since I did that, the opener always worked since the battery was not loose in the casing anymore.Other than those two tweaks, this item is great. Much more convenient than keeping the original large remote around. I wish it was black or something, but that's easily fixed with paint.

Good thing these are a 2 pack
I'm a slow learner, bought a pair of these a few years ago, they worked intermittently even after buying new batteries. Same program with these. It's a good thing that these come in a 2 pack, carry them both!

Great Product That Helps Update Your Old Garage Door Opener
I bought this product because I rent and the place has the older model garage door openers that have a 12 dip switch opener instead of the rolling code generator. Our garage is detached and we have the big old bulky remotes for our cars and a wireless code access panel on the side. I hate walking up to the garage and having to key in the access code and so I bought this device. The product has a rather interesting choice in colors, but feels reasonably sturdy. When the product arrived I opened it up and the instructions were pretty straight forward. You take a screw off and pop the two plastic halves apart to access the dip switches on the inside. The battery has a small insert that needs to be removed so that the battery can power the remote. The whole process of opening and programming the device took about 2mins.The device works very well, but I need to improve my antenna on the garage door opener. My current antenna setup is what look like a lampshade power cable. I find that at some angles the garage door actually blocks the signal from this device. The same also goes for my big old remote. I would say this device is probably about the same in the number of times I need to hit the button and wiggle the remote in the air as my big remote. I feel confident this is a function of my garage door antenna and not the device because I can pick an unobstructed path to the garage door antenna and press the button and the device works every-time.If you have an older model garage door opener, that is 12 dip switch type, and want the modern convenience of the rolling code models with small remote this is the product for you. If you have other dip switch types, this company makes similar devices for those.

This is a really good little item
I live in a community with a Home Owner's Association that likes to have our garage doors closed as much as possible for appearance sake. I've tried to cooperate and even purchased years ago an exterior wireless keypad from Genie that allows a code to be entered to open and close the door. It was OK but not really convenient. I saw these little devices available on Amazon and was particularly attracted to the sturdy keychain hook. It really works well. My brother-in-law visited us from out of State a couple of weeks ago. He walks regularly when he is home. My wife, his sister, and he took some walks in the neighborhod during the early evening while he was here. She doesn't like to carry a bunch of keys when she walks but she just borrowed the Firefly Transmitter from my keychain and clipped it to her belt loop and could let them out through the garage door and back in when their walk was completed. The thing I like about it is that I can leave the garage with my lawn-care equipment, close and open the door with the Firefly and not have to worry about field mice or human intruders entering the garage when I am somewhere in the yards a little more distant. I also don't need to leave the light on in the garage like I used to when I used the side passage door which doesn't have a light switch next to it. Now if I use the passage door I just bump the big door slightly with the Firefly to turn on the opener's built-it light. This was a good purchase!

Firefly 390 for Genie 12 DIP opener
Much to my surprise the Firefly worked for my 20 year Genie garage door opener (12 DIP switch). I wanted a small opener to keep in my Motorcycle Jacket pocket and this fit the bill. Other reviews seemed to be hit or miss but so far the little opener has been exactly what I had hoped for. I have not tested the range but that was not a requirement for my situation. I bought 3 so everybody in the family had one and all three are working fine. Just pry open the Firefly (after removing the minute screw), match the dip switches to the original Genie opener, pop it back together, and you are good to go. On the one I have, the button seems to be a little touchy, I have to press and wiggle a bit with motorcycle gloves to get it to engage. However, with such a small device, I am not surprised the contacts need to be spot on. I am just happy I could find something that worked for a 20 year old device.
