Simplistic, Easy To Programme & Good Value For Money
I bought this phone for my father, as his previous one had been dropped. He was 94 at the time, and whilst he thoroughly enjoyed speaking to family on it, he would not have been able to manage anything more complex. This phone provided him with the ability to make and receive calls and texts although he rarely used that facility. We were able to set up an emergency alert within the family circle if he had pressed the emergency button and it also enable us contact him if we visited and he had gone out for a drive. It is a flip design and requires the pressing of buttons as opposed to touching any screens. It has a sound button on the side which probably is the only feature which perhaps could have been thought out more. Due to it's compact size, inevitably ones fingers would inadvertently lower the sound and it was a little difficult then trying to explain over the phone how to increase the volume. Other than that, Dad was happy with it and it put the family's mind at ease him having it. The screen is small but it is clear enough to see who is ringing and for Dad, he was happy with that.

Great for older non technical people
Mother-in-law, (80 years old), well she had a doro phone for a while and dropped it and it cracked where the hinge is, so was unrepairable. I checked on Amazon and saw this, which believe it or not is an upgraded model from the one that broke, but it was at a very good price. Now this phone for me, or for 90% of people would be far too basic, but for older people, maybe even with not so great sight these phones are great and fairly easy to use. She manages to call and text no problem but would struggle with anything more technical. So, do I think a nice IPhone or Android new model would be any good, not a chance, she would not be able to understand or use them at all. So if you know somebody that really can’t use their television properly but needs a phone to stay in touch then these are brilliant, I highly recommend them for people that you know would probably only use 1% of the functions of the latest smartphones, as probably they are not interested in the other 99% anyway.

Seems to work fine. Ideal for the oldies
I bought this for a customer of mine who is an oldie who wanted an additional phone for his wife. He already has a similar Doro phone himself. I only had to set it up for him which was very simple. The phone appears to be very well featured, which surprised me, even appears to have WhasApp. It has the ability to put a few numbers on "hot buttons" for the people you need to call frequently and has an emergency number system where you can define someone as your emergency contact and get them with a single button press. Be aware that 3G will be phased out over the next year or two, but 2G will be maintained for some time in the UK (estimates are up to 10 years) because so many Internet of Things devices use it. Doro do also do a 4G phone of similar type and ability but that costs £100 whereas this one is really cheap. Definitely recommended for your "granny" :-)

Overall it pretty much lives up to its description
I had to have a phone which would NOT access the internet and would be suitable of some one with limited hearing. The field, meeting these requirements, is not big but this one ticked most of the boxes. I am giving it only 3 stars as it is not great in 2 respects: 1 Speech volume is not more than adequate for the hard of hearing (it is advertised as "for the elderly", which in my book includes hearing problems; and the speaker is not really adequate at all. On the other hand, it performs pretty well with headphones. My main problem with it, however, is with the ring tones. There is a rather poor choice, and the top volume is not enough to ensure that I will always hear it ringing. This is a disappointment as I had a Doro before (though a bit more pricey and 3 G) which had a really good choice of ring tones with better volume. One, in particular, was loud and irritating enough to draw the attention of everyone "on the bus" when it went off; and more importantly that I could always hear it. That aside, it works very well and has very simple, clear controls, choices etc. in a style which anyone who has had a Doro will recognise. Incidentally, for anyone who finds this essential, as I do, you do not have to have the answer calls on flipping open facility set; so you can open up and make sure the caller is not likely to be too irritating before you answer. One other caveat, the battery life is not fantastic - ok when not in use; but if you are out for a day and have a lot of calls, you could run into trouble.

A superb phone for my 91 year old Mother - highly recommended
I purchased this phone for my Mother who is 91 years old. Smart Phones are totally beyond her, so I was looking for a basic phone that a) she could be proud of and b) was a doddle to use. This phone looked as if it would meet this criteria and when it arrived I was personally delighted with what I saw. A quick trip to Tesco to get a very cheap Sim Card (£7.50 per month), plus the Tesco Mobile Sales Rep very kindly set up the phone for me with an emergency number (this is a small button on the back of the phone, so if my Mother falls, she can press this button and I instantly get a text stating she needs help, plus a call where she does not even have to open the phone up). We have put this in to practice over the past few weeks and it has been a resounding success. My Mother is very happy to use this phone, the ring is loud enough for her to hear, she can call me with absolute ease and the flip-up style she loves - so highly successful and certainly recommended.

Just right for Mum
I purchased this phone for my Mum - she's mid-eighties and has Parkinson's, so an easy-to-use phone is vital. The buttons are much larger than on her previous phone, and the contrast of white numbers on black buttons on a white background is ideal for those with limited dexterity and reduced eyesight. The colour screen is bright and sharp. When closed the phone is small enough to fit in a pocket, but when opened the screen size gives a really good display, sufficient even to cope when the enlarged text is selected. Mum particularly likes the clam-shell style as she is worried about accidentally activating the phone and doesn't want the hassle of using a screen lock. I set the phone up for her and had only one difficulty - the alert function is buried in the settings menu and took a while to locate. This alert function is one of the key reasons this particular model was chosen and will give me additional peace of mind now it's set up and tested - it will not replace the lifeline alarm installed in Mum's home, but it will provide extra help if she's out and about. The alarm function can only be set for one time each day, and Mum needs multiple alarms so she knows when to take her medication (timing is REALLY important for Parkinson's meds), but we got round that by setting the alarm once and using the daily reminder functions for the other times. The short cut keys for quick dial, camera and text messages are useful, although I'm not sure Mum will remember them as they are a new feature for her. My biggest worry about the phone was that it needed a micro SIM and Mum's existing one was a standard size. Having watched multiple YouTube videos and armed with the template I downloaded, I prepared to cut down the existing SIM. I was pleasantly surprised to find that no complicated marking or cutting was required - the existing SIM had been pre-cut and the micro SIM could be simply pressed out of the standard SIM and slotted into the appropriate holder in the phone (thank you EE!). The phone was delivered to me exactly in line with the estimated delivery times - I was kept well informed about delivery, and based on this experience I would be happy to use this supplier again.

Simple basic good value phone.
I bought this for my husband who'd been struggling with my old Samsung Android mobile that would no longer hold a charge. This is a very simple phone, but has all that he needs, texts and camera. it was very easy to put his EE pay as you go sim card into the phone and everything transferred over to the new phone. Simple to set up and easy to use. Small, neat and light and the folding style keeps it protected. He is vey happy with it and actually takes it out with him, which he wasn't doing with the old one. I would recommend this for someone who is not tech savvy and just wants a basic phone with no frills.

Both SIM slot brackets squashed against reader
Would not recommend purchasing unless you want to break your nails prying the silver SIM slot brackets away from the SIM card reader base, or want to perform surgery on the phone itself. That was just to fit the SIM card into either if the two available slots as both had the same issue - not enough room to allow the SIM card inside. I'm not sure if I got a dud, refurbished, or forged phone, but this not only ruined my nails it ruined part of my SIM card used in the same model of Doro phone from a few years ago without a problem. The SIM card is now stuck in this replacement phone forever now, but I needed the replacement due to the previous version of the same Doro model finally giving up. Here's hoping this phone lasts for a long time. Phone appears to function properly once switched on with a SIM card finally put into the darn thing. Bluetooth works, it connects to my phone network, and I'm now hoping that texting and calls will work when needing to make both in a few hours. Will update review if any other issues arise, or if calls/texts do not work.

Cuidado con este móvil
Compré este teléfono hace 15 meses y de repente la pantalla no se ilumina. Llamo a un teléfono que viene en caso de incidencia. No para de hablar una máquina en un idioma extraño, no siquiera inglés. No sé a dónde llevar a reparar. Total!! En caso de incidencia hay desamparo con este móvil. Piénsenlo antes de comprarlo. Gracias
