Good price, perfect as a removable backup target.
Purchased this as a removable backup target for my desktop PC.The unboxing experiance was very nice, packaging was substantial and felt better than a lot of cheaper products you see.The drive enclosure feels solid, it's plastic but feel quality and looks good.It comes with two USB cables, one is USB to USBC and the other is USBC to USBC. You also get a PSU, unlike a lot of devices nowadays. It's super easy to use, just plug and play, it even gets It's own unique disk iconSpeed wise I wasn't expecting much, it's a 7200rpm drive after all. But I was pleasantly surprised to get 170MB/s writes..I have had the drive powered constantly for over a week now, power consumption appears low and the enclosure temperature is hardly above ambient room temperature.Super good value, I am very pleased..

It's 16TB but a loop hole allows it to be listed as 18TB
The normal non technical person would potentially not understand that due to math and loop holes 18TB is actually 16TB of useable spaceThat being said, it works wonderfully does what I need it to do. Great quality and performance.

A real PC buster
The first time I plugged this in everything seemed fine. It does warn there is a little bit of noise at first and there was, but it soon settled down and my recognised the drive without issue. Then I tried transferring data across to the drive and after a couple of minutes my PC screen completely froze and the speakers began emitting a constant beeping sound. The only way to fix this was to hard reset the PC, which then wouldn't load past the boot screen, forcing me to do another hard reboot - which is very dangerous as it can break the PC. When it still wouldn't load, I unplugged the HDD and the PC booted up fine. When I at last had the PC back on, i plugged in the USB but my PC wouldn't recognise it. When I then tried rebooting the PC, it again got stuck at the boot screen and refused to progress until I unplugged the HDD.I switched instead to my laptop, ensuring it was on before I plugged in the HD. My laptop refused to recognise it and, when rebooted with the USB plugged in, my laptop refused to get past the boot screen until the device was unplugged.HDD has now been returned for a full refund

Superb value for money
18TB version reviewed. Been using this for a month or so and I'm thoroughly impressed with this drive. This is a quality item - well packaged with good length, high quality cables. I'm getting a steady 250 Mb/sec both read and write. The drive does not get hot at all (slightly warm at most) so it's clearly well ventilated in the casing. The drive is really quiet, too - other than the flashing LED I usually don't even notice it's transferring. I can store all my media, software and disk images of my laptop drives on this with plenty space to spare. At this price I'm considering buying a second drive to serve as a backup for this one. No more plugging/unplugging multiple smaller external drives trying to find some file or other.

Power disable feature HDD must be made to make this HDD inside your pc to work
This is an amazing external storage HDD with an HDD inside that is HGST Ultrastar He10 HUH721010ALE601, this HDD is made for heavy workload and 24/7 work and an insane 2.5M-hour MTBF rating (it can work for about 200 years) but if you have SATA cable from your PSU to the HDD you need to cover a pin with kaptop tape or cut the pin from the HDD with the tip of the cutter.Inside the external case I got about ~150mb/s write and ~180mb/s reads BUT with the HDD inside my PC case I could get DOUBLE THE SPEEDS.I don't know why they would put such a powerful HDD inside an external enclosure anyway this HDD also have shocks resistance but if you drop it I would not count on it anymore. This HDD is sold for about 400$ new on other websites, what is over here is a real bargain.I will attach pictures how I made my HDD to work inside my PC.

If it was 18TB price would be great, however its 16TB, so feels less
Storage upon first plugin, is much less than the 18TB promised, but i was likely to suffer same with the 16TB being less than 14TB. Bare this in mind when you buy it

REPLACEMENT SERVICE SUPERB AS IS THE PRODUCT
The first one I bought would not work. Amazon gave me a return form and sent a replacement, which worked properly right out of the box! So, even though there was a delay of a few days, this item works well and I am able to clean up my computer hard drive by moving MANY files to the external hard drive and increase computer speed.I am not sure why the first one did not work, but the replacement is everything I wanted it to be when I ordered the first one that was promptly and almost effortlessly replaced. In fact, I plan to buy another one to use as a backup to the first one, since I've put almost everything from my computer on this new external!Thank you, Amazon for your replacement policy and thank you AILOU-US for the product.

It works as expected
This external hard drive feels solid and works as expected. It comes with a USB-A to USB-C cable and a USB-C to USB-C cable, which makes it easier to connect other devices. This external hard drive's spinning sound is louder than my 2.5-inch external hard drive. Comparing to my 2.5-inch external hard drive, it is also warmer while working. My 2.5-inch external hard drive doesn't have its own power input and has issues when other USB devices are connected to the same USB hub it connects to. This external hard drive has its own power input and works with the crowded USB hub.
