AMD [Back Plate and Four Screws Included] CPU Fan Bracket Base for AM2 AM2+ Socket

Good part, solid plastic, but mine was missing a screw. Luckily I was able to find replacements at the hardware store.

After three months the bracket was still holding up, but eventually failed as the last two brackets did. The only thing I can surmise is that it is a bad design. The bracket attaches to the motherboard providing a place to attach the CPU fan. The bracket has two plastic hooks, under which the CPU fan's attachments are affixed. To attach the CPU fan, the non-adjustable side is placed under one of the brackets hooks. Then the second one is attached. This second attachment has a lever on it that is rotated 180 degrees to tightly hold the CPU fan against the top of the CPU chip. In time, this plastic hook breaks. This has happened three time now, beginning with the original one that came with the motherboard. Each bracket may be manufactured to the proper specs, but it appears that the specs are wrong. If you are having this problem with yours, I suggest somehow reducing the tension against the bracket that always brakes. Just buying a different bracket is not going to permanently fix the issue.

Worked as designed. I needed this because I took off the OEM when I had an aftermarket cooler on the board. I moved since and did not know what I did with the original. This did the trick and allowed the stock cooler to go back on the board. Reasonably priced as well.

Brackets fit and hold in place. I was able to use my old yet not used AMD stock cooler on another PC meant to be used by the rest of the family.

Easy to install, fit correctly and seems like the plastic is relatively rugged.
