I had to buy this for school but content wise was great and very helpful. Plus the shipping was super fast and the book was in perfect shape!

The paper is good, but not overly thick, and this may be a good thing given that there are so many pages. Thicker paper would make this big book even heavier. One thing I love about this book is the number of problems. The first chapter is followed by 9 pages of problems with solutions for all or most of the odd numbered problems in the back.

I recently received University Physics with Modern Physics. While I am pleased with the content and the subject matter, I am less than thrilled with the condition of the book. The book was slightly damaged and the glue on the binding is loose. I thought it would be shrink wrapped as most new books are. I am beginning to suspect that I may have received a slightly used book instead. The Pearson Publishing Company is well known for the quality of their books. I am not quite as pleased with this one. I was hoping to get a brand new book that is in better condition. I am extremely careful with my books and I expect them (especially a new book) to be in great condition. I have never been disapponted with an Amazon book purchase before but I am somewhat disappointed with this one. The bookmhas everything a physics student or someone just interested in the subject could possibly have. It is a massive bookand definitly weighs what it says in the product description. So, anyone in the warehouse at Amazon handling new books, please be careful with them as I am sure there are other book and science enthusiasts that feel the same way as I do. We like our books to be in good quality condition.

While I am a little surprised that this was available for distribution outside of the Indian subcontinent, I’m glad nonetheless that I got this textbook. I can say that this is the definitive physics textbook if you want a basic understanding of most introductory topics. It’s absolutely invaluable for first year physics students, or anyone who wants to know more about the reality we live in. Great read, good problems and exercises.

I am giving it a five star because I feel like reading the book. Well explained, high quality printing, and many problems in each chapter. I had Advanced Level Physics book by Michael Nelkon and Philip Parkerfor my 11th and 12th grade physics. While the writing is/was good and concise, the printing quality was really poor. I literally got headache while reading the book because of faded ink and small fonts. What a worse situation to learn one of the most interesting subjects of modern time education. I wish my university had "University Physics with Modern Physics" as a text book instead.
