Red Sea 3-in-1 ReefATO + ATO Auto Top Off System for Aquarium | Water On Floor Alarm | App Controled with Fish Tank Temperature Probe

I absolutely love this ATO it was super easy to set up the wire less functions worked flawlessly and this by far had the best associated app i i found. However what is not clearly explained on the box or in the instructions is that this does not work in fresh water, the sensors need salt or sea water for the proper conductivity to accurately measure the water level , i found out after setting it up , installing the app mounting the control box, sensor control and the pump into the reservoir running it and having the pump time out and the app tell me that the water was still low when i could see that it was where i set it and still showing low when i submerged the sensor, this is when i went on Red Seas site and discovered that it does not work for Fresh water. So i had to send it back...If you have a REEF tank I highly recommend this , if you have fresh water PASS. Red Sea PLEASE make a sensor for fresh water and I will definitely buy this again

Another great addition to my Red Sea setup, pump runs quiet and flawlessly and helped alert me to a faulty temperature sensor on another part of my system. I like the fact that it can be calibrated and will let you know how much water you have remaining.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Do not buy. Have had 2 of these and the level sensor has gone bad on both, not replacing it again. It's just an expensive thermometer now.

Upgrading review to 4 starts as the product is well built and likely works fine. Amazon does not include the vendor-stated warning that this device is not suitable for freshwater aquariums. this was my case, and naturally, it didn't work for me. From the time I had this before returning, I can say the product came very well packaged--hats off to the packaging designers. Solid box, nice setup.. similar feel to when you unbox a new cellphone. Also, the product appears at first sight to be of high build quality: the connections are secure, the materials used are top notch, the pump is built like a tank. The app is a little finicky and their interface (forms in the app) requires too many mandatory fields to be filled out (for setup, for customer support, etc) which is just bad design. But overall, for a reef aquarium, this seems like a very nice setup. The fact that it has no optical or mechanical backup shutoff is a little concerning as I experienced first hand that the sensor can misjudge water level (and continue to run the pump beyond the high-high shutoff) if the conductivity in the water is low enough. But you may be able to take this risk, or have an overflow, etc. Otherwise seems like a solid product.
