Miles Kimball Solar Lighthouse by Maple Lane Creations- Rotating LED Light Outdoor Décor - Lawn and Garden Resin Lighthouse

We loved it when we first got it. However, the 'outdoor' lawn ornament cannot be left out in the rain. After a rain, we found the lighthouse full of water and no longer works. There is obviously a design flaw as a solar-powered device needs to be outdoor to charge from the sun. But not being weather-sealed, it now is a piece of junk. The light no longer works. We are very disappointed.

Well, I like the lighthouse unfortunately the red one was put together horribly compared to the blue one. The railing isn’t even attached at the top part. The top part is crooked and I don’t see a way to even fix it.

I was very unhappy when the reflector quit revolving, after we had a couple of rainy days. I turned it upside down and water ran out of it. It was one month to the day that it quit revolving. I figured it needed to be dried out, since it was in the hot sun all day, it did dry out. Today it started to revolving again. I”m a Happy Camper!!! I turned the black part to the left and it came apart, it has to be replaced at a certain point or it doesn’t fit down evenly. I also replaced the Rechargeable Battery Ni-MH1.2V min. 1900mAh AA HR6, there was a 300mAh battery in it. I placed a clear glass flower pot which comes down below the black portion of upper part, it should keep the rain out of it.

This is super nice and 100% solar, mine has worked great in sunny weather, it charges fast and seems to hold its charge almost all night long up until the next morning sunrise. The LED light is very bright too, a lot brighter than expected...The only issue I've had with this is that if its outside when it rains, it tends to collect water just under the base of the light, it has no drainage, so it holds water and this is where the solar battery is at, so it has kept it from working multiple times. We have to remember to go out and turn it upside down, shake out the excess water and let it drain, and after that it has always seemed to start back up again. Bought as a gift for my dad, because he really likes lighthouses, so this was a very nice and fun gift that he really gets a kick out of seeing light up each night. One good thing to note is that even if it did stop working the top part of the lighthouse with battery and light can be bought by itself as a replacement piece from different places over amazon for about 15 bucks, so I bought one to try out and it even works better, and seems to sit just a little bit higher over the base, so maybe that will keep some water issues from happening as often. It has still been very affordable cost wise as compared to some other lighthouses I viewed that cost over $100, so i'm 99% satisfied and happy with this item. I would recommend giving it a try to anyone that likes a lighthouse.

Loved it the first few weeks, until the lighthouse stopped turning. Still lights up, but no longer spins and unfortunately it stopped days after the 30-day return policy. Still cute, but very disappointed in the quality of the mechanism and the willingness of the seller to either return the product or provide a replacement.

I love that the turning light is subtle and not glaring at night. I get a lot of admirers from the neighbors, grown ups as well as kids on my beach scene at the corner of my yard. It is just as described by the seller. I love it.

FOLLOWUP: The customer service representative was very helpful and sent a replacement. On the newer one, I was able to twist the top off and open the battery compartment. Thank you!================================================Although this one is larger and of better quality than the Jumbl Solar Lighthouse with Rotating Lamp, at least on that one, you can replace the batteries, and so are able to enjoy the lighthouse for years to come.The seller was responsive and did forward instructions that stated: "You must turn the top black portion of the light slightly to the left to remove it from the base."But mine will not budge.The second sentence said: "There is a plastic tab (red circle) that must be removed in order for the light to operate. Simply pull the tab out, it is not necessary to open battery compartment"But since the light does work after the first charge by simply pushing down on the switch to turn it on, these instructions must be outdated. The top portion WILL NOT OPEN for me, and I don't want to break it. I think it's glued shut.

It charges of course during the day. But it really works best where it can get full sun all day. It needs to be anchored. As it tends to blow over. But when fully charged it has worked as long as 8 hours after coming on.

The product is only 10 inches high, not the 15 inches advertised, so I wanted to return it but it says it’s not returnable because it is a product that may contain oil, go figure!, so I am extremely unhappy with the product especially considering how much it cost. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone for any reason.
