Tibialis Anterior (shin muscles)
It’s hard to find equipment at the gym that specifically targets the tibialis anterior. This strap is perfect for it. Strap this to a dumbbell and sit on a bench with most of your leg resting on the bench and you basically curl the dumbbell. Don’t neglect this muscle! It “lifts the toes and helps clear the foot from the ground during walking, while also inverting the foot, contributing to stability and maintaining the medial arch of the foot during movement; it plays a crucial role in activities like walking, running, and kicking a ball by stabilizing the ankle as the foot hits the ground and pulling it up during the swing phase.” Keywords are stability and ankles. If you’re looking to build a muscular looking leg then this is also important for the aesthetics of the front. Can’t have big calves and a flat shin.

Don’t waste your money
I absolutely hate these things. I ordered two to do hamstring curls at home. It’s very confusing to get them attached to the weights correctly and every time I’ve used them it’s taken me ages to figure out. Once they are on my feet, the straps dig into my feet uncomfortably and they are not stable. The weights flop around, making it difficult to get good form with my exercises. I wish I could return them, because after two weeks of messing with them, I’m done trying. Complete waste of money.

Not for me
It's not overly cumbersome to strap on once you learn the design, but I felt as though the time plus the awkwardness of using this made it not worth the purchase. If you aren't standing on something where your leg can hang then it's going to hit the ground. There's also no resistance at the bottom of the extension because your leg is just hanging there which also limits the effectiveness of the workout in comparison to something like a hamstring curl machine.

Easy to use
Works as you’d expect. Got this for my dad for a leg/ankle injury recovery and it’s help him strengthen his leg quickly bc he will use it watching tv in addition to the gym and has helped with a more speedy recovery.

Good product
Useful. I’m glad that I purchased it. A little bit of a pain to put on but that might have more to do with my problem conceptualizing where to Velcro. Worth the purchase.
