ez-Release Earring Remover

IT WORKS!! Fortunately for me, this thing did exactly what it was supposed to do. I read some reviews mentioning that the device was flimsy and broke easily, so I was pretty ready to be one of those cases because my earring was stuck so, SO badly (I had tried to remove it in every way you could think of - hands, hands with gloves, pliers, etc.) and it was a 16g earring instead of the usual 20g. The post of the earring was also not sticking out past the loops on the back, so I was worried that there wouldn't be enough leverage for the back to be popped off. But I was quickly coming up on my last option for removing this earring - which was to go to the freaking ER - so I decided to give this a try. And thank God, it worked on the first try. Super easy to use, super straight-forward, and it popped the back right off with minimal pain (my ear was a little bit sore already from battling the earring a couple days ago, so if it weren't for that it probably would have been painless). I couldn't believe it. I can now definitely recommend this to anyone who has had a face-off with those darn butterfly backs, as I honestly can say that I think this would work on *most* earrings with those backs if it worked on mine. It might be nice to see this item made out of a slightly sturdier material in the future, but at least it did the job!

THE BEST THING EVER MADE!!! At least it is when you have been trying to get your starter earrings off for weeks. All the tugging and pulling in the world couldn't get my earrings off. The front actually broke off the stud when my fiancée tried to pull them out causing the metal front to pull into my ear. It was super traumatic and I was panicking. I bought this little contraption and within 10 minutes of getting it home, the earrings were out of my ear and my new ones were in with no pain or struggle. This is genius. Best money I have spent in a long time!

I'm amazed! It works. I was trying to take out a cartilage earring with butterfly backing that was just STUCK. I tried pulling for hours trying to loosen the backing but it only ended up hurting me and not working at all. And I have multiple other piercings, like my nose and other parts of my ear that I never had a problem with before. I docked off one star because it's kind of really expensive for the material (small piece of plastic); I bought it for $15-$16 and I think it should be around $10. But what do I know? I was upset and worried that I would have to go to a doctor, but this saved me a trip!! Thank you.

I loved it! Until it broke... Which was probably after about 10 uses. Once it breaks it's completely useless. Change out the prongs from plastic to metal and it may last longer. Tempted to buy again but not if it's going to break immediately again

I was so happy to find this product! When both my daughters got their ears pierced at the same time, I began dreading when the 2 months would be up and I would have to take them off. I remember how much my mom struggled getting my starter pair off when I was a kid. I watched a youtube video on using bobby pins as a lever to accomplish this, but honestly it looked like a risky approach that could do more harm than good. to I had no idea if there was a product like this out there, but I searched anyway and found this. It is absolutely brilliant! When the day came to removing the earrings, my girls were very apprehensive. I held my breath as I followed the instructions and placed the little prongs through the holes in the earring back. Gave a little squeeze and voila! The earring came right off. My daughter did not feel a thing. I proceeded to do the other 3 ears and then we had all the earrings out in less than 2 minutes. Everyone said, "Wow, that was so easy." The downside is, that it's not really a product that will get a lot of repeat use, but it was totally worth it to me to relieve the anxiety that both I and my girls had over this process.

I was so excited to find this product- my daughter recently got her ears pierced and the backs were completely stuck on. This tool did absolutely nothing. We tried multiple times to make sure it was being done right and it wouldn't push the post at all. Very disappointed.

I only write online reviews for items that really WOW me, and this product deserves one! My two daughters got their ears pierced on the same day - for various reasons we removed my oldest's several weeks ago and had to use pliers to pull the backs off. They came off, but it was not easy, it took effort. When my youngest was ready for her starters to come out, we could not get them off. Not even holding the backs with pliers! Several family members all tried to remove them over a 2 week period, which of course ended in tears and sore earlobes despite being as gentle as we could. My husband looked up ideas on how to make the earring back removal easier and found this item - I purchased it immediately. It came today and within literally seconds the earring backs were off with ZERO pain. It also took barely any pressure on the tool to get them off, it was incredible. Seems simple, just taking an earring back off - what is the big deal right? But when they are STUCK ON THERE and your child is upset and won't let anyone continue to try to remove them, this is a lifesaver. She is happily wearing a new pair of earrings! THANK YOU!

My 5-year-old daughter had her ears pierced about 6 months before I bought this product. We had left the starter studs in as long as recommended for healing, and then attempted to change them. Because her starters were flat little flowers, it was tough for me to get any kind of grip on them to get them out, and the backs were really tight, so I had trouble every time. The earring would end up coming out so fast that any dirt or build-up on the stud would rip through her ear along with it and the hole would bleed. I'd make sure to let it heal before attempting it again, but it was becoming an endless cycle and even after 6 months they weren't healed correctly. Eventually she wouldn't let me near her ears, even to look at them. I didn't know what else to do, so I searched online for "how to change daughter's earrings" and this product came up in the search results. I do think it's a bit overpriced for being nothing but a little plastic gadget, but it had really good reviews and seemed like the best solution to the problem, so I bought it anyway. It took me a week after receiving it to convince my daughter to let me try it, but we were both happy that it lived up to the hype and managed to get out her tough starter studs without any pain. There was a little bit of a trick to getting the gadget to line up with the end of the stud, but once I had that figured out, it worked like a charm. Now her ears have been able to truly heal and we're able to change her earrings whenever she chooses. It is a little pricey for what it is, but it works!
