TetraPond Koi Growth 4.85 Pounds, Soft Sticks, Pond Fish Food

As the weather warms up and the pond water temperature stays consistently above 50 degrees, I switch my koi over to a high-protein diet to help them bulk up for the summer. I’ve been using these TetraPond Growth sticks for the past few weeks to see how the fish respond compared to their standard maintenance diet. Performance & Everyday Use: Fish Appeal: The koi go absolutely crazy for this stuff. The "soft stick" texture seems much easier for them to digest than the hard pellets I've used in the past. They soften up almost immediately upon hitting the water, making them great for both the larger koi and the smaller pond fish. Water Clarity: This is the most important factor for me. Cheaper fish foods tend to dissolve too quickly or create an oily film on the surface, which ruins the water quality and clogs up the skimmer. This food floats nicely, and whatever the fish don't eat right away stays intact long enough to be scooped out. I haven't noticed any algae blooms or murkiness since switching to this. The Value: The 4.85-pound bag is massive and a much better deal than buying the smaller jugs at the local pet store. It comes in a thick, resealable bag that keeps the moisture and bugs out. The Only Downside: Because they are "soft" sticks, they can get a little crushed during shipping. When you get to the very bottom of the bag, expect to find a handful or two of fish food dust rather than intact sticks. I usually just toss that dust into the garden as fertilizer rather than putting it in the pond. Verdict: If your pond is fully thawed out for the season and you want a clean, high-protein food to help your koi grow without ruining your water clarity, this bulk bag is a fantastic, cost-effective choice.

I've been buying this food for my comets and shubunkins for a couple years now, and love it for them. It's high protien, meaning their bodies utilize it better and well, less fish poo, which is always a bonus! After feeding them a couple other foods over the years, I can say this one really puts the weight and size on our fish, moreso than the other brands. As for color, I've not noted any difference. The fish love it - it's the type that floats so the fish come to the surface. Always be sure to not overfeed - enough so that it's all gone within a few minutes. Oh, one last note: if you have cats, keep this in an airtight container, LOL! Our cats think this stuff is tasty! They'll rip open a bag and just go to town on it!

Our fish love this, quality is great, smells like fish food and they seem to love the taste. Seems to be very nutritional and fresh as our fish have grown at a steadily since eating this. The size is perfect as we have it on a subscription for every 2 months.

EXPENSIVE, BUT THE FISH EAT WILL EAT ANYTHING

My Koi love to eat these sticks, I guess they are good. Does not look like there are any problems with the food.
