Not impressed at all Qnap TS-664
The media could not be loaded. Â After owning several Qnap devices I decided to buy model as an upgrade for my old version which has served me well. Now multiple issues here:1, The device is terrible noisy (level far above other Qnap Plastic Cases it constantly does humming noise because when the drives spins and the chassis (case) will warm up it will start rattle and additionally horrible humming noise. You may say that is because of Hard drives but NO like I said I have several Qnap devices but none of them is that bad like TS664 and the other device which I currently still own are plastic cases. Now I have seen one video about this issue on youtube but did thing this was just unlucky guy but actually NO the noise is terrible and very disturbing (NO CHANCE you can have it anywhere close to you it will drive you crazy.)Past few years the quality and overall service from Qnap has gone down the road but for this price this is NOT acceptable at all. Again the noise is not caused by drives directly but plastic case.2, Second BIG issue internal NVMe slots are performing only on 50% of the actual speed tested with multiple brand new drives and instead of speed which I should get 1.66GB/sec I do get knly 840-850MB/sec terrible I have expansion card from qnap as well and when I have hooked it up and put the same drives in the expansion card the same drives had speed of 1.66GB.3, USB 3.2 copy performance Max I did get around 100-150MB/s where the attached drive from WD claimed speed of 256MB/s again Qnap issue.4, Who ever designed the NWMe slots jesus next time make there more space for NMWe which comes with heatsink the slot 1 there is NO chance you can use NWMe drive with heatsink or buy heatsink separately as it will not fit the metal case is in the way and if someone will say you do not need it there is active cooling (FAN) YOU REALLY NEED heatsink on the NWMe drives as the cooling efficiency is not good at all and airflow is very low in the unit. Tested multiple heatsinks and NO chance to put one in 1 slot.Overall the firmware is not brushed for this unit properly and the unit TS664 is actually very very slow vs my two old generations Qnap devices. I am disappointed to be honest by overall quality of the unit and performance I should stick with metal cases and rather spend little bit more. Not recommended this NAS TS664.

Worked as expected.
Had a previous QNAP NAS for 9 years until it broke because of a power outage. Ordered the new equivalent and just had to install the latest firmware and transfer the old drives to this new NAS.Worked without a problem! I only have good things to say about QNAP.

Excellent NAS - Migration transparente

Seamless migration, upgradeable RAM
Migrated from an older QNAP NAS to this model. The migration was easy, pretty much switching the disks and powering up.Although the QNAP website specs state that the 8GB model has fixed memory, my model had two RAM memory slots (see the pictures). I switched the one stick to two Kingstron 8GB KVR26S19S8/8 modules and ran memtest86 to see they're working without problems. The CPU model was the newer 5105 instead of 5095 stated in the specs, which was also a nice surprise. All in all, a good intermediately priced NAS for home use. I'm hosting Jellyfin on the NAS and the 5105 CPU seems to handle basic transcoding nicely, although without tonemapping. The NAS is a bit on the noisy side, since the disks tend to resonate.
