So far, so good!
I am pleased with using it for two days now. I'm impressed that it could handle temperatures exceeding well over 50 degrees Celsius with no visible strain on the dash cam itself; it was just hot to the touch. I loved the built-in dash cam settings; there's so much to customize. The app has room for improvement (e.g., it keeps recording every time I open it, which is slightly annoying). Video looping is excellent, and the downloading of files is acceptable (scales with video size). Overall, this was money well spent.

Great Product
Would be nice to know about the other hardwire add on options with the product. Otherwise it’s a great product. Great quality.

Keeps giving Memory Card Speed is Low Error
The dashcam worked fine for few minutes till I kept getting the memory card speed is low error and recording kept stopping. The funny thing is I was using Sandisk Extreme Pro microsd card which has some of the fastest read write times. The error message subtly kept pushing Roves own memory cards which are way slower than the other ones in the market. Avoid at all cost as this seems to be a major issue in all of these units (check Reddit for more such examples).

The picture quality on the Rove dash camera is amazing. So simple to install and I love the suction up, easy to remove if required, very strong hold onto the glass. Simple to set up the camera and has so many options for the camera. It’s the best dash camera that I have used and I love the quality and ease of use.

Upgrade for my vehicle. Bought a dual cam version for my alternate vehicle and it’s been great. Now I have 2 and work both off the app. Not the easiest to connect but works great when it does. Video and audio quality is waaaaaay better they what I was using for the past 4 years. Makes sense though.

I am very pleased with the camera. The clarity of the videos is great. The wiring kit was straight forward to install and works fine. I purchased the ROVE R2-4K PRO and Dash Cam hard-wire kit. Initially I purchased another SD card but after reading the ROVE documentation, I returned the card and purchased the ROVE SD card. I don’t need problems. There are many things I like about the camera and wiring kit. The first thing I noticed when I opened the camera box is there is a ribbon that holds the lid, nice touch. I installed the camera myself and there was a learning curve. Mounting the camera was easy. Initially I used the suction mount to try different locations. Then I used the sticky mount for the final install because the mount went on the area of the windshield that has the black dots, frits, and the suction mount does not stick to that area. One thing I learned was when I switched from the suction mount to the sticky mount I was not sure how to get the mount off of the camera. It clicks on when you install the mount, and I did not want to break anything. But what I found is the bases for the mounts are the same so you just need to unscrew the top part of the mount, easy. Another thing to be aware of is if you use the sticky mount the part of the mount that goes on the windshield has a slot for the camera to slide into. Be careful to install it with the slot up, or the camera will fall out of the mount. Although the manuals that were included with the camera and wiring kit were excellent, as good as I have seen on products lately, there was still a learning curve for me. I chose the wiring kit because I did not want the wires hanging down and I really liked the fact the wiring kit has a feature that protects the battery from being run down if the car is not driven for a while. There are settings on the wiring kit that will shut the camera off if the voltage drops below a voltage that you select. I chose 12.2V and did test it and it worked properly. I watched Youtube videos of what fuse locations to use. When I did the initial install the camera turned on but did not go into park mode when I shut the car off. I ended up calling ROVE for help. I was very impressed with their help. I called and their message recommended I text so I did and they responded right away. We handled all my questions via texts, which worked well as I was able to organize my thoughts and include pictures. With their help, I ended up choosing a different fuse slot and now the camera works fine. On the install, I used the trim tool that was included with the kit, nice touch. I also used the little wire clips with sticky backs that were included with the wiring kit, another nice touch.

My primary reason for wanting a Dash Cam was to use it in rental cars when I am travelling and this one perfectly fits the requirements. The packaging is really good and contains everything except for a SD (Memory) card that is required to use this device. Unlike others I like the fact that they dont provide a SD card and charge more and instead give the freedom to us to choose the brand and size as per our needs. All you have to ensure is stick to the Read/Write speeds which they recommend and you are good. I went ahead with a SanDisk extreme 128GB and it works as expected. Coming to the setup, I had issues setting the device with an Android 14. The WiFi kept disconnecting no matter what I did and could never proceed. When I tried with iOS 17, it worked as expected. There was a firmware upgrade post which I could connect to my Android as well. I havent gotten the chance to record on road yet but from testing at home it seems to pretty good. Will soon update once I get a chance to test it on a drive. This is not a big deal but just a suggestion to Rove, it would be really great if you could provide a screen protector as this device is used by a lot of people in Rental cars and it would avoid a lot of scratches while packing if there’s a screen guard. Thank you :) Update: Used it on three road trips so far and it works perfectly. Displays the speed exactly that I see on the speedometer. Night time video quality is surprisingly good too. Had a small problem but the support team dealt with it precisely and sorted out the issue within a day. I am much more confident driving in different cities/countries having this in my car.
