how long does a 1lb bottle last on this unit?

1.5 hours on High, maybe a little less. YMMV based on altitude and level of flame. Get a converter hose and hook to a 20 lbs propane tank

Looking for a carry bag for this versatop 2x grill

I got onto Camp Chef's website and ordered mine.

Can it be used inside and run off the same connections as my propane kitchen stovetop?

The grill is ordinarily expecting to take 'high' pressure vapor propane right from a 1-pound cylinder or a hose from larger tank and has a regulator to reduce pressure on right hand side connection. Your kitchen likely has low-pressure coming from a regulator on or very near your propane tank. If this is the case, you can easily remove regulator from grill (it is shipped removed) and adapt house propane at appropriate pressure to the same connection. It is not something I would recommend to average homeowner without professional assistance.
