The Story of Civilization - Full 11-Volume Set

We bought two sets of these books. These books are well written, well researched, and took years to be completed. The introduction alone is worth reading just by its self!!! My husband is enjoying them so much he doesn’t want to put his book down!!! Our 25 year old son is also very impressed and has complete respect for the authors and is only on book one!!! We believe that if every “World Leader” would read these books they would treat our world better and would understand what they should really be doing!!! It is very important to understand history and to learn from it!!! These books are excellent and we highly recommend them!!! Worth every penny!!!,🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

It is masterpiece for the millenia and genius of Durants. The keeper has preserved this knowledge wealth (11 volumes) nicely. Shipped with excellent packing with care! Thank you!

I don’t often write reviews, but was a little worried when Vol XI showed up first, albeit with a personal note the rest would arrive! What followed were all the others, each individually wrapped. You could tell that care and attention went into this! Thank you! This is a 5-star review for the care and quality of this seller! The content? Can’t wait to spend days and weeks in these Durant books. Big thank you, and highly recommend.

Three of the eleven books had significant damage to the spine, including one book that was completely detached from the spine. The product did not match the photos for the item. On a positive note, the pages of the books are in good condition, no writing or highlighting, except for water damage on several dozen pages of one of the volumes.

I went to the local library and happened upon Vol. One of this series called "Our Oriental Heritage". It was a thick book, but it was so interesting that I couldn't put it down. Therefore, I bought the entire set for my personal library through Amazon. History may be seen as being dull but not when you read it by these 2 authors, Wil and Ariel Durant. It took them 20 years to write the entire 11 volume set. These books are so inspiring that I could not put them down, until I managed to read them all. I am thrilled to read the series and cannot recommend it enough to all history buffs. This is a power-packed 11 volume set that will keep you captivated for months, as you go through each age of civilization as if you were personally traveling in a 'time machine' and able to be present in person.

However this time I must write one because it’s so so much beyond my expectation! * I love collecting all the classic books which are related to Christian spiritual growth, Children science/art/history etc. The series of story of civilization is worthy to collect! * the books are kept very clean, and I give thanks to my Lord and the former owner for cherishing the great art! * the book printing is extremely satisfied. I had several bad experience that the printed words is unclear. I don’t know how the other customers general feedback about today book printing, the electronic products are upgraded a lot, but the book printing quality today is worse than the old days.

A must have volume set for the Social studies of man. Well researched. Collage level reading. No longer in print.
