Sex is not just good...
Sex is not just good; sex is not even great; sex is holy. That is the conclusion of theologians concerning Pope John Paul II's "Theology of the Body." Far from the prudish prohibitions that ignore the reality of hormones, this is a proper understanding of what sex was meant to be and how that understanding is an icon of God. It is no wonder one JPII biographers has compared the theology of the body with a cultural time bomb set to explode sometime in the 21st century. These are the keys to a new sexual revolution to fulfill what the mid-20th century sexual revolution promised but has failed to deliver. The theology of the body is a demonstration of the longing of the human heart that nothing will satisfy. It is a reaffirmation of Augustine's assertion that "our hearts are restless until they rest in [God]."If you are familiar with the writings of JPII, you know his style can be difficult to grasp quickly. Jason Evert has given a wonderful simplification of JPII's thought suitable for teens or as a primer to this time bomb. While being a simplification, Mr. Evert avoids the danger of simplistic moralizing that misses the point of JPII's theology. In so doing, Mr. Evert strengthens the ties of this theology to the dignity of the human person.Mr. Evert divides the material into two sections - one particularly suited for men and one for women. Each section is less than 50 pages making the entire book a quick read. Most teens (or adults) can read the entire work in a single day - which lends it well to sharing. It would be an ideal tool for homeschool or youth group discussions.Set the time bomb in others. Ideas have consequences and this idea could very well have the power to change our culture for the better.

A must read if you want to understand sexuality!
I learned some new points in this book aimed at young adults, probably 14 to 24, which I'm passing on to those in my guidance. I'm also putting this book in their hands!

Learn the Purpose of Your Sexuality
Great book for male and/or female teens, young adults, single persons, and/or married couples! :DThis book is a short 100 page version of Theology of the Body. It is split in half (e.g.50 pages on the Theology of Her Body and 50 pages on the Theology of His Body) in order to further accent the beauty while outlining the purpose of each gender's sexuality. Fifty pages is a short, easy read for both girls and guys who do not like to read or who do not have the time to read a 500 page novel. However, the shortness of each section does not reduce any person's ability to understand the book's contents or any person's ability to gain lifelong lessons about their sex and the opposite sex from the book.

Buy it!
This is a great book for adults and teens alike. Great, accessible reminders about Theology of the Body (if you are already familiar), and terrific intro to TOTB (if you are not). My teenage and young adult boys have both read this one, and both told me what a great help it was to them. I got a lot out of it, too. It's short, easy to read, and insightful. Well done, Jason! Thanks for a great resource!

Truth and Beauty!
I'm back to purchase more of these books. This is a book that my husband and I wish to hand every young gentleman and have them read before they are allowed to date our daughters! And, this is an important read for every young lady too! It helps to erase the false ideas of our secular culture and replace them with the beauty and truth of God and what He has intended for the relationships of men and women. All and all, this should be read by everyone (not just teens!). Yes, it's that important of a book! It gives the truth in how we should treat each other in God's great design.

" It is so easy to grasp and apply to your own life
I could not decide which to read first, "her" body or "his." It is so easy to grasp and apply to your own life. It would be a great conversation starter for middle/high school kids. Wish I had read this when I was growing up.

Not A Catholic, But This Book Is Excellent
Although, I am not Catholic and strongly believe that it never glorifies God to choose not be married, Jason Evert did an exceptional work in presenting what it means to be a man and a woman. He was truly inspired. It is very well written and I especially wanted my sons to read it. I've never read anything that better portrays what a Christian man should be in such a short, straightforward, concise and beautiful manner. It touches your soul to be a better person. Thanks, for your inspiration.

The book
Ithought it is a more serious book. I think it is addressed to the teenagers with all explanations. But it is ok.
