TOPENS ERM12 Universal External Receiver Kit with 2 Remotes for Garden Swing Sliding Gate Opener Systems, Remote Accessory for Outdoor Use

I purchased a complete Topens Dual Gate Opener setup (A La Carte) including: PW502 Opener, TC196 WiFi Remote, ERM12 Remote, TC175P Wired Keypad, TEW3 Vehicle Sensor Wand, and ET24 Gate Lock. After setting up and adjusting the gate travel, everything works as expected. One significant issue I had to work thru with the support staff at Topens was the inconsistent operation of the TC196 WiFi Remote that works via your smartphone. Although my indoor setup is well within the 230 meters from the gate controls (mine is about 50 meters at the most), the operation was inconsistent. It may work one day and not that afternoon. After several exchanges with Topens support, they suggested an external antenna ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B094MW1YMV/) that has fixed the issue. One additional tip I would offer is when you are setting up the TC196, the "paring" sequence MUST be done as fast as possible. It appears the main board only has a few seconds to press the momentary switch on the main board, then press "A" on phone, have lights flash and press "A" on phone again. It took me multiple tries to get it programmed. Again, after solving the issues with the TC196, all the operations of the gate and related components appear to be working as expected. Thanks again to the support at Topens for assistance in getting everything working!

Works great and as described, highly recommended if need more than 8 remotes.

Super easy install. Great range on transmitters. I bought this to pair with the TC196 to open my gate via WiFi. Only took a few minutes. The app is more responsive than my original remotes

After installing the Topens RK 1200T sliding gate opener, I couldn't program the 6 remotes I needed to operate the gate. I contacted customer support via their portal and explained the problem. They had me do a number of tests and send some photos. They decided that I needed this Topens ERM12 Universal External Receiver for my application. The sent me one free of charge. I installed it and the remotes programed easily. I can operate the gate from 100+ feet from our house. Very good product and excellent customer service. The entire gate system works well and is of good quality.

I am somewhat disappointed with this toppens product. It comes with a short lead wire. The wire is soldered to the circuit board so you have to splice to extend and it's light weight triple wire. The instructions ate for a garage door opener for gate etc. They send you back to your original opener manual for wiring I was able to purchase a short length of triple lead wire and make the connection. IT DOES IMPROVE the range for the remotes,which has been my only complaint about the toppens gate opener. It works great and this solved my issue

Update. This thing does not increase the opening distance from gate at all. It was a waste of money I have a Topens sliding gate opener which I LOVE. I just wanted a bit more range to use the opener remote. Wasn't quite sure how to connect so I contacted Topen customer service. Zak wrote me immediately with directions to install.

Works very well with remotes, but I'm having trouble connecting the other push button

Purchased this receiver to add greater functionality to my Topens gate opener. Unfortunately the unit didn’t prove to be weatherproof and shorted out when water got in. Customer service was great and they sent a replacement right away. This time as a precaution I applied some black rubber spray around the edges. Works well and customer service was top notch.

It didn't even last a year before shorting out. I opened it up and found lots of corrosion, moisture, and black burn marks around the power connector. Looking at it now I see that it isn't moisture resistant in the slightest, there is lots of space for water to get in around the buttons and back plate. This should be addressed by the manufacturer as it is clearly intended to be mounted externally Another complaint is that the wires are extremely thin and fragile and very frustrating to attach to the control board.
