Yamaha True X Bar 40A Dolby Atmos Sound Bar with Built-in Subwoofers, Wi-Fi, Music Streaming, Optional Wireless Subwoofer and Surrounds (Black)

I went back and forth on getting a soundbar with an external sub, because our TV area has limited space that would be ideal for a sub. I landed on the Yamaha True X Bar 40A after weeks of research and reading reviews. I felt it hit a sweet spot of having enough drivers to support Dolby Atmos from a single soundbar, still being within my budget (was 50% off when I purchased), and had good reviews for having built-in subs. A few months into ownership, I've been very pleased with the performance. Dialogue in moves is crystal clear, you can definitely hear side to side audio movement, and the bass is good, not great, but that's to be expected without a standalone sub. The only thing slightly lacking is vertical audio reproduction. It's there, just not highly noticeable unless your listening for it. Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase and would highly recommend for anybody looking for a standalone soundbar with built in subs.

The Yamaha sound bar is like the perfect match for my LG OLED EVO C2 tv when it comes to watching my 4K blu rays and playing my Xbox Series X. The bass this thing delivers is truly incredible and the AI clear voice technology and the bass exit really make all the sounds whether it be dialogue or background noise really stand out. I will say that it can get a little too loud even when the volume isn't at its highest so that volume can be very touchy but other than that for anyone considering a high quality sound bar for under $500 this would be it to complete your own personal theater.

As expected very good sound from Yamaha, big disappointment is a lip sync problem that I could not resolve yet and may end up as a return if unsuccessful at fixing it. Great immersive sound for sports if that is the only use but not for movies with the lip sync issue.

I'm so impressed with the Yamaha True X Bar 40A Dolby Atmos! Setting it up with my Vizio TV was a breeze – it connected easily and was ready to go in minutes. The sound quality is phenomenal; it truly fills the room, especially with the Dolby Atmos effect that makes everything feel immersive and dynamic. I was blown away by how clear the dialogue is, and the bass has just the right amount of punch without being overwhelming. I'm very pleased with the system. The setup is quick and easy. The sound is clear and confident – it creates that movie magic feeling for me. AirPlay also works flawlessly.

I must have gotten a dud. After swapping 3 sets of cables, taking a few classes from Professor youtube, and reading the instructions a few times, and the on line manual, it wouldn't connect and play on anything but the optic cable, which sounded almost as good as the $50.oo soundbar I wanted to replace. I returned it, and ordered a much cheaper one that plugged in, was up & running in about 5 minutes.

I had never purchased a Yamaha soundbar previously, had always leaned towards Sony's product line. But having had this soundbar now a few weeks I love it, the sound stage it presents is wonderful. It just feels like it fills my room better. Everything I have played on it since I have is noticeably better all around, I would certainly recommend this soundbar.
