Sturdy functional and looks good
This is a high quality lamp which is easy to construct and easy to rebox. The sturdy metal pole/tube is made of a strong metal, not like some other floor lamps. The base is heavy so the lamp will not topple over, and the torchiere shade is also made with a sturdy plastic. It is perfect for a dorm room, but honestly, this is the 3rd one we bought; we have 2 of these lamps already in our living room. It provides ample lighting for a bedroom, and I really can’t say enough good things about this lamp. We initially bought a lamp from Target that was $10 cheaper but it died 1/2 way through second semester (not even a whole year!); this lamp has lasted us over a year of daily use with no issues. It is worth every extra penny.

Great qualiity and well made!
Looks great and it's VERY WELL MADE! Easy to assemble and once everything is tightened up it is very sturdy. You might not want to put this in a formal dining room, but for anywhere else it's great. Great quality for a reasonable price.

Beautiful, Bright, and Not Harsh at All
Beautiful and bright without being harsh. I bought two for my bedroom since we have no overhead light, and together they light the entire space perfectly. Simple black design, easy to assemble, and the uplight makes the room feel bigger. Very happy with them.

If it must be plastic at least make it sturdy!
While this lamp is very reasonably priced I was shocked how VERY thin the shade itself is I just think it’s cheap looking….You used to be able to buy lamps like this with glass shades they were very nice but I unfortunately they’ve all pretty much switched over to plastic. What a shame. Back it goes.

great quality for the price
bought multiple for all over the home, takes 30 mins to assemble and the light is great, not too dim & warm but not too bright either. You can assemble alone with ease.
