I am going to use this item monthly, and if I have any problems related to my line backing up, I will adjust the review and rating. For now 4 stars and I can recommend the active ingredient used.

These septic pods by Uncle Todd's are very convenient, and I like some of the additional reminders they have incorporated into their product. Compared to the liquid septic treatment products, these pods do not require any measuring -- just simply drop in the pod (not from too high up to avoid splashing!), and flush. Furthermore, some of the liquid septic treatment products found at the big box stores only include 3 monthly doses while Uncle Todd's septic pods includes 6 monthly doses.I also like how this product has added free reminders to their product. Since this is a monthly treatment, it's easy to lose track of time and forget to drop in a pod at the same time each month. Additionally, the package includes six blue sticker dots and a list of months on the back of the package so you can better keep track of what months you have flushed a pod.It's still too early to tell how well this product actually works, but I haven't seen any negative effects and my septic tank appears to be working as intended almost 20 days after one treatment. Currently priced at $2 per pod, this product is a great value.
