I gave this product one star because not one seed sprouted - however, I will say the packaging itself is beautiful, not one thing was missing and customer service was INCREDIBLE! I did not contact the company for a refund, but they immediately gave me a refund on my credit card after my bad review - NO QUESTIONS ASKED - without my knowledge. I feel bad now that I did not contact them first. This is an HONEST company and I will certainly do business with them again. I give them now FIVE STARS!

Avergo Bonsai Tree Kit provides a quality product with awesome customer service. The directions and ease of growth is by far the best I have tried.

Short review is that it is worth the shot so far. First round of planting was okay and I’m going to try again to plant the seeds. In the digital book there are more tips on how to actually get the seed to sprout which I will come back to include in this (I used the physical booklet in the package for the first round of seedlings). Originally I was going to give it the rating of the hatched seeds but I think 2/5 stars is not accurate a score unless none of my next round of bonsais hatch (sprout). TLDR: Okay so only 2/5 of my seedlings hatched (sprouted) and I am going to repot those this weekend into pots that are for bonsai (going to leave a review there once I get some use out of it). I am hoping it keeps them alive but as you can see from the photos my lotus sprouts are very feeble. Pigeon pea sprouts are THRIVING. I included pics from the day I planted them, 3 days after planting (first sprout was from the pigeon pea), 7 days after planting, 14 days after planting, and today- 3 weeks after planting. It was great for a beginner-ish like me (I used to tend to a vegetable garden in middle school but now being almost 30 I feel like I am starting all over). It also was super easy to do as a renter and I just need to make sure they get enough light on my balcony. I humidifier used (yet) but I have one for my allergies that I will repurpose for my plants while I’m at work. Pretty satisfied with my buy!

I got this kit as a gift for my wife as a birthday gift. She followed the instructions very closely since she was afraid of the seeds not germinating properly. Very light misting to keep the soil slightly moist. Within about a week, the two locusts started sprouting first. Three pigeon peas followed, then all four jacarandas sprouted. She was so happy! The other two trees may take longer to sprout and we may try new seeds if nothing happens in the next couple of weeks. One of the flame tree seeds seemed to mold and we had to remove it along with the soil surrounding it(hopefully the two other seeds that were next to it will be ok). We're excited for our bonsai to start taking off!

I do not recommend this product at all. The kit is nice and the things in it are nice too, however not a single one of the seeds ever germinated or sprouted. I got so frustrated that I gave my last two packets of seeds to a friend of mine who is a professional arborist. After a week and a half he came back to me and said yeah these seeds aren’t gonna grow. If an arborist of 35 years couldn’t get them grow I don’t expect the average person to be able to.

Kit was very visually appealing. However, only 3 types of seeds successfully germinated. Was never able to get the delonix regia or the crepe myrtle to sprout. Very few jacaranda sprouts for the number of seeds they supplied.

Avergo’s Bonsai kit is a kick. It comes in a very compact package which serves as a growing tray. The instructions are clear, and I got enough seeds for several plantings. (This isn’t a computer game, it is real life, I had to replant a couple of species). Everything I needed (except water) was included. The staff at Avergo is available and eager to help. Fun to watch life unfold on your window sill!

Fantastic Product! As an intro to Bonsai, this kit was great! As you can see by the pics, success was easy. I just followed the instructions. Then after sprouting, transplanted into bonsai soil with organic on top, fed with bonsai fertilizer and they just keep on growing! Customer support was great as well!

This is such a neat kit. Lots of extra seeds just in case. And the instructions are so good. I’m impressed. I love the wooden box and mini tools, too. It would make a great gift for anyone who likes plants. Update: After 22 days, I have some very healthy little seedlings. I’m following the instructions, which are very clearly written. The Crepe Myrtle seeds are the only ones that haven’t sprouted - but I have plenty of extras, so I’ll start those again.

Great kit! The Bonsai Tree Kit was a real find for me. It comes with everything you need, and the instructions are clear, even for beginners. It’s so calming to grow a bonsai and watch it take shape over time. Such a special experience and a perfect gift for yourself or a loved one!
