Awesome Adapter
This adapter has allowed me to use a Dualshock 4 with my PS2 with no issues at all. I haven't noticed any perceivable lag and it saved me from buying another controller when I found out my Dualshock 2's were dead when I took them out of storage. A great buy and I'd highly recommend especially with it being relatively affordable.

Great Product - Update Firmware!
Update the firmware from the 8bitdo website if you're having problems with buttons, toggles, lag, etc. Did not work properly right out of the box (despite the update in the log being recent!), but after a firmware update, the PS5 controller works well on the PS2.Bought this for my mom for Christmas -who isn't tech or search engine savvy despite being a gamer- and the left toggle wouldn't let you move forward, the right toggle wouldn't let you look back, and there was a bit of lag between button presses. I had to go online to find the manual and set it up for her. She still asks for my help pairing it 😅 she'll have to learn by the time I move out! I occasionally have to unplug it and plug it back in to pair - not a big deal since it needs to be charged (it usually pairs on the first try though). But otherwise, it's great and a good buy and she's back to playing the OG Rarchet and Clank games!

Adds 13.3ms of Lag
I did an exact lag test and the receiver adds 13.3ms of lag. That's very low, but nowhere near "virtually lag-free". The variance (trial with most lag minus trial with least lag) also went from a 11ms spread with an OEM Dualshock 2 to 19ms spread with a DS4 and the 8bitdo adapter. So keep it in mind it adds a little amount of lag/latency and adds a little more variance in the polling. Other than that it works 100% flawlessly, it's very easy to pair, works perfectly, is responsive, and even supports rumble/vibration/force feedback. So basically, this is perfect for casual to mid/high level play, but speedrunners and those demanding perfect precision gameplay might prefer not using it. In practice, since 13.3ms is still fairly low, it's hard to feel the additional lag, but it does worsen the responsiveness "vibe" a little.
