Works as advertised
Tried several other extractors to tie together my TCL TV with EARC, Sony Surround headphones and Sonos Arc soundbar. This one works exactly as it should and I am able to get all surround formats to work on the Sony and Sonos. Other devices would downmix some formats to 2.1 stereo or not even work at all.

Works great with Monitors and Soundbars
Does exactly what it says. I tried multiple extractors in past which either does not work with soundbars or does not support the expected video or audio formats but this is all in one. Will update back with longer usage review later.

Product does what I expected, but Technical Support is poor
I had trouble installing the product mainly because the instructions and diagrams are of limited value. I called technical support and the rep could not solve the problem and so he told me he was going to inquire with more skilled colleagues and have them call me back. I did not receive a call, only an email the next day asking if I pushed a button. Not helpful With the help of youtube I was able to get it working. Product is fine, technical support is limited.

If it doesn't work, try enabling/disabling the arc/earc button in the front.
I use this device to connect my Apple TV, Sonos arc sound bar and my Samsung TV that doesn't have eARC HDMI. At first, I thought it didn't work and got to contact customer support because the device was not passing surround sound, only stereo. After explaining my setup they indicated to not enable the ARC/Earc button in the front. Something that was against my Audio Engineer instinct and the reason why I never thought about it as a possibility. But this was the solution. I am not able to try Dolby Atmos with my Apple TV but this is a limitation on my Apple TV device that doesn't support it. Only Apple TV 4K will have this option. All in all, great device at an affordable price. Very good size, so I was able to place it behind the TV. Super simple to setup.

Doesn’t Solve Lip Sync Issue LG B7 with Sonos Arc
So this was purchased to avoid the cost of the more expensive competitor. It does function, possibly even getting better quality audio. However, it doesn’t seem to fix the lip sync issue I’ve had since getting the Sonos Arc. My assumption is since the TV (LG OLED B7) has only Arc and not eArc it causes the delay. For me it seems to be a 100-200ms audio delay. Figured since this adjusts the audio it might solve the issue, sadly it doesn’t do such. Might still function for other uses though. Especially if you’re not using it to fix the lip sync issue I’m facing.

Works Great; but could use a delay option!
My TV only had One eARC port; I needed two. Both my AVR and Sound bar requires eARC to work effectively. I used this as a splitter or "y" in between the AVR and TV; so I could use my sound bar as well. Used separately; both Sound bar and AVR are flawless and sound amazing! 7.1 AVR; 3.1.2 sound bar. However, if you try to combine the two for unprecedented and amazing surround experience of 10.2.2; there is a delay. The sound bar sound is near instantaneous due to the HDMI connection; however sound for AVR has to be processed and go out to all the speakers as well, which creates a minor lag or delay in sound compared to sound bar. OREI should add a button for 3-5 preset delay constants; which would allow a user to try various presets for the best sound matching between a sound bar and an AVR system. The sound bar could then be delayed slightly to match sound if an AVR is in parallel. Or the preset could be removed for full natural sound when using sound bar only. That would make this product 6 stars; above and beyond 5 star!!

Bring new life into an old receiver!
I have a 12 year old Yamaha RX-V665 receiver. It doesn't support any of the new tech, like Dolby Atmos or DTS:X, which is fine, but it also doesn't output past 1080p, which is a real deal breaker. I have a 4k HDR10+ TV, and the only way up until now to have this tv and receiver setup was to use an optical cable. What sucks tho is the optical cable is only compatible with 5.1 compressed, and it sounds far worse than using the direct HDMI from the receiver. That's where this device solves all my problems. This device allows me to have 4K HDR10+ video direct to my TV, and the audio extracted to an HDMI input to my receiver. So my receiver thinks I have the Roku plugged into it directly, giving me full 5.1 uncompressed, and I still get the full quality from my TV. I've been looking for a device like this for a long time, as the only other solution was buying another expensive receiver to replace my fully functional Yamaha. And I'm so glad it worked out of the box no problems.

Worked for about 30 seconds
I tried two of these and returned both. They worked for about 30 seconds and then could no longer pick up ANY Dolby sound. Atmos or 5.1. I fooled with them for hours but could never get them to work right. Support only told me to “change the cables.” Does not work well with new LG TVs.

I kept thinking all this while that my HDMI input on the Bose soundbar was not working. I was connecting it directly to my PC. Thanks to chatGPT, I figured out about this whole eARC thing and sound separation. This extractor works like a charm. I connected it, and boom! way better sound than my earlier optical connection. If you want to project sound to a soundbar (which supports only ARC/eARC input), this is a good solution.

I have taken the little bit of time to give the review. Because I have to arrange the soundbar. This extractor eARC port will work through the mobile app of the soundbar. There is mentioned eARC port. You have to enable it. Then the enormous Dolby Atoms sound quality will enjoy. It is better OTT platforms. I am very satisfied to purchase this item for my old TV. I recommend it. This device is better, if you have a eARC port of your TV. This device has capable to extract better dolby atmos sound than your TV. My home is like a cinema hall.
