A BODY IN THE COTTAGE a gripping Welsh crime mystery full of twists (The West Wales Murder Mysteries Book 5)

Another excellent tale
Alas, this is currently book #5 and the last in the West Wales Murder Mysteries. This is an excellent series and this episode is no exception. Once again, I couldn't put my Kindle down.As workmen begin the demolition of a row of derelict cottages, a woman's body is discovered. Clearly, she has been brutally murdered. As she was heading a campaign to prevent these demolitions, there is a plethora of suspects to keep the reader guessing. There's not quite the clean ending I had anticipated so, perhaps that opens the door for an eventual episode 6? 🤞If you liked the previous books in the series, I rather think you'll enjoy this one too 😉 😄

Good Read
The latest in this series has the usual complex plot with plenty of red-herrings before the culprit is brought to justice, a true page turner, a thoroughly good read.

Another excellent story
This is one of my favourite series. This story was excellent with lots of twists & turns & red herrings. Lovely characters who all get on well together. Hopefully not the last in the series.

A twisting tale full of red herrings.
Another book in this compelling series of a small police team in rural West Wales. This really is a very good series. This case seems to become more complicated at every turn giving DI Southall, CD Norman and their team. Eventually a chance discovery leads to a conclusion.

Inconclusive ending
I have enjoyed all this series but found this one a bit waffling and for the first time I skim read parts of it. The ending was a bit disappointing as well, I guessed what had happened once they arrested the suspect regarding the main murder but the outcome re the second one was just left as a maybe and not fully cleared up, disappointed as the book just ended abruptly then. No follow up re Erin and her being told what happened to her boyfriend and did she go and live with her father ?

cracking story
Brilliant start. Woman in high end clothes dumped in old mining cottages. Not a place you would expect it to be.A young girl going to throw herself off a roof. Strange but she I also thr victims daughter? It takes the time time and lots of footwork through boggy fields to answer the question.

Good Detective story
From book 1 in this series I have enjoyed each story. It’s been great learning a little about Wales, even if I can’t pronounce the name of the towns! The team that works on these cases are interesting and keep the story going.

Excellent read
I really like this series and this book was one of the best so far, kept me readin most of the night. The story was well writing and plotted with the great characters lending extra depth to the story. It was a bit hard to guess how it was going to end up and I can’t wait to read the next one to see where the characters go from here.

Good until the ending
I liked the various plot twists, but I thought the ending was kind of abrupt. I also felt there were too many unanswered questions at the end. I realize that in real life everything doesn’t wrap up nice and neat but part of the story involves a troubled teen and at the end she just sort of faded from her story.
