300mm Brown Trickle Vents (internal and external fittings)

Had an issue with condensation in the bathroom and en-suite windows steaming up but it’s sorted now

Having bought a house that had double glazed windows fitted at a time when trickle vents were still quite a few years in the future, we found that condensation was present every morning after a cold night.The hardest part of the job is taking the windows out so that you can drill the holes in the window frames to make the vents work.I advise taking a photo of the wedges used to hold the glass unit in place as they will be different for every window. Also, bear in mind that most windows will have some metal reinforcement in them, and you'll need a HSS drill but to get through that part.That done it is a simple job to fit the actual plastic vent components - remember to fit them to the correct side of the window - the one with a control flap goes inside and the one with the grill (to keep flies out) goes on the outside.Also, remember that you will need a paint scraper to prise off the plastic window bars and a rubber hammer for reassembly.For the money that are actually really good and, certainly in our case, they reduced the condensation by about 75%, so we were well pleased.
