We are putting a fence in so I needed something to help me find buried rebar property line markers. I had found them twice before with a neighbor's help who had a regular metal detector, but I didn't want to bother him a third time to help me find them yet again. I knew about where they were, so I didn't need a regular, expensive metal detector and found this on on Amazon.com. I thought it would be worth a try. I went out today and found the first one very quickly and was able to document where it was for future reference. I also found the rear marker which I had trouble finding the last time I looked. With the pin point metal detector, I found it in less than 2 minutes and it was not where I thought it would be. I am very pleased with this product and how easy and well it worked. Really amazing. This isn't for general detecting, but when you have found a proximity location, this detector will tell you right where the item that you are looking for is.

I've only used it once, but I'm glad I have it. It truly makes it a lot easier to find your treasures. There were many times when I pinpointed one spot with my metal detector, but this Pinpointer said I was off by an inch or more; so I was much more efficient with my digging. This is the only detector of this type that I have ever used; so I can't compare it to other models.One thing I can say is that I specifically looked for one with a decent range. For the bottle caps, can tabs, and coins that I find, this doesn't seem to have that range; so I assume the range is based on larger or denser objects.I am being compensated by the manufacturer. There was a note in the box that said if I left a review, they would send me a metal detecting book. I review a lot of my purchases; so I probably would have reviewed this item anyway.

UPDATE: I informed customer service of the problems I was experiencing and they have been nothing but helpful. Always love to see a company that owns up to it's mistakes and doesn't try to just sweep them (and you) under the rug!!The Good:-The build quality of this pinpointer is exceptional-Easy to use, single button operation-Seems fairly water resistant (good seal on battery compartment-Comes with belt holster so you feel like Indiana Jones whenever you whip it outThe Bad:-Very sensitive to the signals put out by my main metal detector. If my main detector is within 5 feet of the pinpointer, the pinpointer will go crazy and register false positives non-stop. It is annoying to have to stop and place my main detector far away from the digging spot or turn it off every time I wish to use the pinpointer. Not sure if this is just something you have to do with all pinpointers no matter what but it's definitely an annoyance with this one.-Wish it were a little more accurate in terms of the actual pinpointing. It definitely picks up the objects well/is sensitive enough for small things, but often times it's hard to tell if the object is below or beside the device.

I was waiting for my pinpointer I only had one warm day to use it and it came right on time the day they said it would. My old pinpointer another brand quit vibrating. I am really surprised at how sensitive the Ricomax pointer is. I went out the first day and used it and it is a lot better than my old one, it starts picking up a metal signal about 4 inches away from its target and the three light led makes it a game changer for me . I love it, the closer you get to your target the more lights come on when all three lights light up your there.And it also makes it a better tool when you dig past your target the led display lets You know you know you are past your target and to what side to dig. It saves time and digging I love it and would recommend this product to anyone 5 stars

I have been involved with metal detecting for almost 40 years. during that time I have probably purchased 6 or more pin-pointers and none have had the ease of use or the performance of this one. I am able to detect a dime at about 1 3/4" ar a quarter at about 2". The only thing I am unsure of at this time is the durability...time will tell on that point. It does appear to be well made and hopefully will give long serviceUpdate: I have run into a bit of a problem, the first time I had it out was with a Tesoro detector and it worked perfectly. Today I took it out with my Whites and I believe the detector interfered with the pin pointer to the point that I have to turn the Detector off to have the pin pointer work properly. I am guessing that the pin pointer has a very similar frequency to the whites which is 6.595 khz

The product works good. It is NOT however, "waterproof."The main description at the top of the items picture states very clearly, "waterproof probe."The add is very cleverly described in the description section as being and I quote, "Paticial Waterproof." Its unique design means you can use it at the everywhere.... What????? Particial??? Did you mean partially, or Practically??? And use it at the Everywhere???Now either there is a few typos, or someone is trying to represent an ability that is not present.I still figured it was probably just a typo. When I got the product. It comes with a small piece of paper that states this product is NOT waterproof/resistant.So don't represent your product in the picture as in the water. Plain and simple. It is a Very Good product otherwise.I just need it to be WATERPROOF.Fairly good Customer Service though.
