Zest Basil Vegan Pesto 340 g (Pack of 3)

Used sparingly, this gives a nice subtle flavour to pasta, and i've found is also quite nice to give a lift to other sauces if used as a kind of puree.I've made the mistake a couple of times however, of trying to up the intensity by adding more. (I've always cooked with strong flavours).The acidity of this product is very high - and as soon as you start to use too much, an overpoweringly sharp vinegary flavour overwhelm the dish, and likely be all that you taste, it's also difficult to then cancel that out without turning your food into a dessert.It's impossible to say that it tastes like I remember a classic fresh italian pesto tasting, however I have long accepted that trying to replicate carnivorous meals is not the secret to enjoying vegan eating.It has a place in my cupboard for lazy lunches/dinners, as with fresh ground black pepper, and a good quality olive oil to finish, it makes for a tasty simple meal.

Best vegan and vegetarian pesto so far. As a vegetarian I would give this product my 100% product satisfaction. I am very happy with the choice of ingredients and the texture of the pesto. I have used sacla brand vegetarian pesto available from morrisons but nothing compares to this product. We had initially ordered smaller pack size but ran out quickly..have been having it soo muchhh!! so decided to order slightly bigger bottles...I am very happy and satisfied with this product and strongly recommend it. Great pesto. Vegan gluten free. We’ve used it for years....great spread on rice cakes for a quite snack, works well spread on tofu and grilled, tasty stirred into plain rice or quinoa and of course delicious with pasta. Enjoy!

Great for vegan pesto. Strong vinegar taste which makes it quite strong and zesty. Can't match real pesto with parmesan but is handy for pasta and as a spread.

Hideously over wrapped! Beautoful product, I don’t believe there is a better pesto out there

I have bought this for several years, its so versatile and keeps in the fridge with a little olive oil covering the top once opened. It is very tasty and transforms any dish.

Excellent pesto, not containing cheese. Ideal for the lactose intolerant and vegans. I use it as a spread but many other ways to use it.
