Grey Fox Games Champions of Midgard Strategy Board Game for 2-4 Players, Ages 10 and Up

This is such a great game! I love worker placement games, but sometimes they can just feel a bit dry and dull. Put worker there and get resource. There is little risk or excitement because the outcome is guaranteed. CoM really combines great worker placement mechanics with the risk of dice rolling combat - and imo it does it very well, balancing the risk and bad rolls, with chance for reroll and using rune cards to turn the tide of combat. People say the expansion Valhalla is a must, I personally havent played with either expansions, and I think the game is great on its own. Sometimes you do get a really bad combat roll which will set you back quite a few points - this is sometimes game changing. Valhalla aims to balance this, however I dont think its absolutely needed. It's quite a complex game for people to understand at first, just because of the shear number of worker placement, combat and card options. However from our experience by round 2 people have grasped the basic mechanics and enjoy the rest of the game. I imagine Valhalla and Dark Mountains add yet more options that for a 1st play through would be a bit overwhelming for new players.

Love this game. I have purchased a few games lately and have enjoyed them all and Champions of midgard is one of them. I love the theme combined with the worker placement but then throw in the randomness of dice rolls and you have a really fun, easy to play game. Cannot recommend this game highly enough. Love Lords of Waterdeep but this game just adds that random groan/gloat moments that make this game more likely to get played plus it has far more theme and atmosphere than LOW.

A fantastic board game that is a step up from Lord of Waterdeep. if you loved that game then you're going to enjoy this with all of the extra gameplay elements it brings into play.

Arrived on time, well packaged. Great game, though the board doesn’t seem amazing. Mid fold the rub together and split. That’s a design fault

Nice test your luck worker placement game, The characters feel well balanced even when I tried to break the game it had ways of putting me back, the risk of going out to see is done beautifully, though bit sad encountering a monster with the dice type on it kills them instead of not being able to use them, a bit harsh but you can make those back easily.

Been trying to get a hold of this game for ages. Saw it finally back in stock and ordered. Then discovered its advertised further down as the language being 'Polish'. Went to cancel, but was too late. BUT was pleasantly surprised to discover it was in 'English'! Checked Q&A section and the seller states they've been in contact with Amazon, but amazon has failed to sort this error out. As for the game itself - its brand new, came the next day wrapped in cellophane. Been wanting this game cause i've enjoyed other worker placements like 'Stone Age' so this will be a nice little twist on it with combat involved also. It's easy enough for me to learn as I play a lot of these types of games, but could be trickier for those new to worker placement with the added combat element.

Good game. Paper on the edge of the board was ruckled and slightly damaged even though in a sealed box.
