Just works - haven’t had any issues with connectivity. Easy enough to install.

I don’t often write reviews, but felt I needed to in this case. I bought this unit 4 months ago and have been enjoying wireless CarPlay in my MX-5 since. That was until a week ago when it stopped working. I contacted their support via Amazon and I quickly had a response with some things to try to resolve the issue including resetting the car’s infotainment and upgrading the software in the CarPlay box (I didn’t know you can do this but you can and it’s easy). These options didn’t resolve the issue and so a new box was promptly sent to me via Special Delivery, arriving the next day. A quick swap later and my CarPlay was back up and running! I find a lot of companies can efficiently sell you something, but the true measure is if they can get their customer service right when things go wrong. In this instance the service was faultless and I was very impressed! I can recommend this box (which is very good) and this company.

Have installed the carplay unit in a CX-3 2019 about 4 months ago. The install is straight forward with good instructions and the unit comes with genuine mazda cables. Works wirelessly with iphones and wired with android devices. Touchscreen works fine out of the box when stationary and can be enabled to function whilst driving as well. I had several issues when using it with google maps but I believe this is a software related problem. The unit will crash or become unresponsive and the only way to wake it up was hard resetting the infotainment. As soon as I have uninstalled google maps from my phone (ios 18.2.1) I didn’t experience any other glitches or issues. Would recommend this carplay unit.

Fitted to my Mazda 2. Had to update the firmware first. I bought the wireless version and works perfectly. Seller was very helpful. Very happy.

It was great for about two months. Now it restarts so frequently I want to remove it.

As others have said, as long as you watch the easy enough to find videos on YouTube this thing is easy to fit im no mechanic or auto electrician but with the right tools (trim removal and socket set) this install is easy and took about an hour going slowly… Wireless CarPlay connects via Bluetooth well. The initial set up was fine with my iPhone 14, I then set my wifes iPhone 14 up also (turned my Bluetooth off to prevent any pairing issues) this was far more ‘laggy’ with the unit becoming very slow and Siri activating for unknown reasons….. day 2 we have gone out to use the car and the infotainment unit screen was blank, turned the car off and on again and it sorted the issue but not as great as I hoped it would be, appreciate this is an aftermarket part and not an official Mazda item but for £130 thought it might be pretty close to flawless

UPDATE: Hat zweieinhalb Jahre meist sehr gut funktioniert. Immer mal wieder gab es bei iOS Updates Probleme, aber diese hat Apple dann immer behoben. Seit iOS 26 (Beta), iOS 26.01 sowie aktuell iOS 26.1 RC verbindet sich mein iPhone 15 PRO Max nicht mehr mit dem Gerät. Es ist somit aktuell nicht mehr zu verwenden. Ich hoffe immer noch auf ein Update, das das Problem löst. Original Rezension: Ich hatte zunächst vor, die kabelgebundene original Carplay-Integration von Mazda installieren zu lassen. Dann habe ich dieses Gerät entdeckt. Meine Idee war: Wenn die wireless Integration nicht funktioniert, kann ich hier einfach auf wired umschalten. Ich muss dazu sagen, dass mir mein Mazda-Händler das Gerät installiert hat. Kosten ca. 140 Euro. Ich bin mir aber sicher, dass ich es, mit den diversen Youtube Videos, auch alleine geschafft hätte. Der Händler hat mir dabei auch gleich die neueste Software Version für das Mazda Infotainment installiert, was alleine schon 30-40 Minuten dauert. Bei mir war die Box direkt nach der Installation nicht auswählbar. Das hat mir sehr viel Kopfzerbrechen gemacht, hat sich aber über Nacht „von alleine“ gelöst, da der Mazda da wohl den Strom komplett von der Box nimmt, was zu einem Neustart führt. Am nächsten Morgen hat alles funktioniert. Mein iPhone 12 ist schnell genug für Carplay, alles läuft geschmeidig. Die einzelnen Navi-Apps sind unterschiedlich gut in Carplay integriert. Ich habe früher immer TomTom go verwendet, das jedoch nicht ganz so gut integriert ist, wie Apple Karten, oder Google Maps. Aber ALLES ist besser, als die „here“-Karten des original Navis, dass sich ja nicht richtig mit dem iPhone Hotspot verbinden lässt und daher keine aktuellen Verkehrsinfos liefert. Ich hatte übrigens direkt, als das Gerät scheinbar nicht funktionierte, den Support des chinesischen Herstellers per WhatsApp kontaktiert, der sich direkt zu „Bürozeiten“ in China gemeldet hat. Ich nutze das Gerät jetzt seit zwei Wochen und kann nur Positives sagen. Eine Kleinigkeit, die auch in einem anderen Kommentar hier zu lesen ist. Von den beiden USB Anschlüssen lädt nur der das iPhone, der nicht das Smartphone Symbol hat. Ich vermute dieser Anschluss ist nur bei Carplay via Kabel aktiv. Man kann also nicht zwei iPhones gleichzeitig laden.

Worked for maybe 2 weeks and now it constantly disconnects. Doesn’t matter whether it’s wired connection or wireless. It’ll connect for 20 seconds then disconnect then repeat. Massive waste of money. Theres also no way to contact seller on here and none of the FAQs help. I’d love to give this a better review but sadly I just can’t recommend it.

Le kit est livré avec tout le nécessaire pour l’installation : le boîtier, des câbles avec une bonne longueur, de l’adhésif moussé pour éviter les bruits parasites, des petits colliers et même un lien pour télécharger la mise à jour du logiciel de l’autoradio. Il ne vous manquera plus qu’un peu de patience et quelques outils de démontage des garnitures. Comptez 2h pour le montage (et encore je l’ai fait dehors en pleine nuit!). L’installation nécessite la dépose de nombreux éléments en plastiques, tant au niveau du boîtier qu’au niveau de l'écran. Si comme moi vous souhaitez l’installer sur une Mazda CX-3, vous trouverez sur Youtube une excellente vidéo « Tutoriel installation Android auto/Apple CarPlay sur Mazda CX3 ». Pour l’instant que du bonheur, mon iPhone se connecte immédiatement après le démarrage et les menus sont parfaitement fonctionnels en tactile (je n’ai cependant pas essayé en roulant) ou à l’aide de la molette de sélection.

Mazda CX5 2017 installed and worked perfectly! Easy to install and well worth it. Dont have to remove middle console shifter section either like some are doing. Find video in spanish of guy fishing wire on side of middle console. So easy!
