My Favourite Melodies - 14 Selected Pieces - Soprano Recorder (Tenor Recorder) and Piano - Sheet Music - Schott Music (ED 23555D)

So I’m not particularly good but the tunes I’ve done so far are very catchy so I keep practising which is improving my playing. There is one tune in there you can play on alto I found otherwise like the book states it’s just descant and tenor. The online audio is good and has helped me no end

If like me you're a fan of Sarah and her Team Recorder YouTube channel, you'll be familiar with some of the pieces in this book. Lovely arrangements and varying styles of music. The piano arrangements are also great and appreciate the fact it has its own seperate booklet with just the recorder parts for playing duets so you both have a copy. Also you can download the backing tracks and versions with Sarah playing which is an added bonus (especially the harp accompaniment). Worth every penny and I hope she brings out another book.

Absolutely adore this music. Wonderful collation of pieces, incredibly varied - a joy to peruse and play.

A really fun book to play, with something for everyone included. I watched the You Tube video of Sarah playing the pieces which also gave some background on how she chose the pieces for the book and her arrangement of them. I am enjoying the variety of the music and the audio and video backup are a huge bonus. I would highly recommend this book.

When Sarah teaches recorder on YouTube, she frequently plays parts, pieces, and snippets from the pieces in this book. I could hardly wait to get this book but it it off for awhile thinking I wouldn’t be able to play from it as I have only been learning the recorder since fall. But there are many parts of the arrangements I can play as a result of her lessons and I am thrilled. She has included downloads as well so I can play with backup and I love it that as well as her tips on each piece. I love every piece but her variations on the Wellerman and Doen Daphne are my favourites. The 14 pieces have full piano accompaniment , with separate music for recorder. She thought of everything to make the music our own!

Firstly, Sarah Jeffery is an excellent recorder teacher and recorder player. If you want to learn the recorder, her classes on You Tube are phenomenal. The songs in this book are really lovely and challenging not a beginner level by any means. The reason I became interested in the recorder was from watching her videos.

14 brani dal medioevo alla musica contemporanea, passando per due brani di musica popolare. Il livello è intermedio, a parte due brani di livello più avanzato. Per ogni brano viene fornito lo spartito con accompagnamento (arpa, clavicembalo e piano) e lo spartito per il solo flauto (soprano o tenore). E' possibile scaricare i file audio, sia nella versione completa che con il solo strumento di accompagnamento (play along). Finora ne ho studiati 8-9, con molto piacere.
