Hachimaki is a Japanese headband worn as a symbol of perseverance or effort by the wearer. "Banzai" (written 万 ten thousand and 歳 age) can be translated as "Long life!" or "Hurrah!" Banzai is usually cheered three times - at the same time as raising both arms - to express enthusiasm or celebrate a victory.
