Many reviews have criticized the case as flimsy and broken. That is NOT true for this set (87-piece set, item FBA-TADSM86N0, ASIN B0C4T8L5PY ). For those with the flimsy cases I suggest putting the empty case face-down over thick bed of newspaper and spraying the back with expanding foam. Allow it to thoroughly set and cut away the excess.

Very good for the price. Unlike most similarly priced sets, this has proper metric and SAE sizes that are accurately labeled. If you want this as a hobbyist, it's a good set to have on hand.

The metal used for this tap and die set is pretty sub par. Basically, they're one time use per size. Maybe two. I'm didn't put the taps in a drill, I tapped the appropriate sized holes by hand with oil and the teeth were wore down in minutes. After ordering these I used them a couple of times and just gave up and went to Northern Tool to buy a quality set. Unless you just need something inexpensive to do one project and don't expect to need a set like this any time soon I'd skip this brand.

Product seems to be nice I haven't used it I just got it today only problem I've got and I think I saw it on here is they really need better packaging for all of the little pieces I do really like the metal case that's nice and I did not know it come with a whole puncher and gloves will update when I use

Cheap case, vacuum formed inside and cheap at that. For me this only works for chasing threads. Pure junk. No engineering involved at all. This must be a Marketing driven company. Who could care less if it works, just make it look good so we can get rid of them. This will cost Amazon around $215 for selling this junk without a warning. I deferred that much from amazon purchases and bought somewhere else. I couldn't use standard size tap drills. The 6mm isn't a tap it's a hole reamer. If you really try you might get a 15% thread in aluminum. Just drill about 2 number sizes over the nominal amount. I'd be embarrassed to sell this set.

I am a machinist,and these are high quality for home and even for a business. I read the reviews and I find whining about the blow formed case very minimal reason.The readable stamped size is very comparable to all taps and dies .Even the high end MSC supplies are not any better at labeling .So get over that too. The way they ship with the taps on the bottom is the reason they fall out. When you get them reverse that and you will be happy for the rest of your days. DO NOT EXPECT THESE TO TAP STAINLESS STEEL. No taps do that very well. Tap oil is a must always. Special tap oil is required for S/S. Even aluminum require a different tap oil than mild steel. Taps break and it is mostly the users fault. If any part of this set is lacking its the handles .My experience with similar handles . The body of these can break , being cast white metal. The blow formed tool organizer, is an insert. Not the case, that is metal.

I am a cnc machinist by trade. These are the worst quality taps and dies i have ever used, the material they are made from is to soft, causing damage to the dies and taps even in mild steel. the quality of the grind is poor, and often they will not even start, it seems more common they will just strip any thread out that they manage to make. even chasing threads takes a huge amount of force. stay away

Great set for small jobs. Theres many sizes in it and the set is packed with all the required tools. If you are look for an affordable tap and die set then this is good. Not the best quality metal in the market but for the price, it does the job.
